OFFICERS

DON HAMILTON, CFA
PRESIDENT 

​Don has been a charterholder since 2001.  He has recently retired after 33 years of professional experience, with 30 years in Saskatchewan and 3 years in New Zealand and Australia.  Don's main area of focus was on corporate finance but he was also active as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Regina and First Nations University, teaching Finance, Economics and Accounting.  Don is now involved in marking for the CFA Candidate Exams and will continue with both academics and as a volunteer for the CFA Society Saskatchewan and CFA Institute well into his retirement.

JORDAN WILSON, CFA, CPA (CA), CFP
VICE ​PRESIDENT

Jordan is President of Wilson Wealth Management, a boutique, fiduciary, wealth management firm based in Saskatoon. Jordan has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta and holds CFA, CPA, CA, and CFP professional designations.  Jordan has over 25 years experience in various areas, including: public accounting and tax; oil and gas industry; taking an oil company public as VP-Finance, Treasurer, and Board member; international finance in The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Switzerland; investment analysis of bankable, non-bankable, and operating assets; product and risk management; mergers and acquisitions; managing the Global Trust Operations for UBS. Over his career, Jordan has served on the Boards of over 100 companies, including non-profit, public, private operating, and investment companies. Since joining the CFA Society Saskatchewan Board in July 2018, Jordan has been heavily involved in Candidate Preparation and University and High School Outreach activities.

LILY LIU, CFA, MBA
SECRETARY

Lily works as an Assistant Vice-President, Commercial Mortgages at Addenda Capital Inc., one of Canada’s largest multi-asset investment firms. She has over 20 years of global work experience in the investment industry. Prior to her current role, Lily worked for Cordiant Capital Inc., Hélène Dion Investment Management Inc., and a commercial bank in China. Lily graduated from HEC Montreal with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. She also holds a Master in Management degree from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Nankai University. Lily received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation

ELLA CHEN, CFA, MSc (FINANCE)
TREASURER

Ella is a Pension Analyst at Farm Credit Canada based in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she supports the administration, governance, and strategic objectives of FCC’s DB and DC pension programs. Prior to her current role, Ella worked at CIBC as a Financial Advisor providing financial planning and managing a portfolio of high net worth clients. Ella graduated from George Washington University in 2014 with a Master of Science in Finance Degree and obtained the CFA charter in 2021.

AMAR BAJWA, BAppSc, CFA, EMBA,

Amar is a Regina native currently employed with SaskPower as a Consultant with the Business Analysis and Risk Management group. Amar attended the University of Regina where he obtained his Bachelors of Applied Science in the Electronics Systems Engineering program in 2005. Amar started his career in Information Technology before joining SaskPower in 2009 as an Engineer in Training (EIT). With SaskPower, Amar worked in a variety of Engineering roles, earning his P.Eng in 2013. In 2014, Amar went back to the University of Regina, enrolling in the Executive Masters of Business Administration program through the Kenneth Levene Graduate School of Business, completing the program in 2016. It was after this time Amar decided to further augment his education by pursuing the CFA Charter which he obtained in 2021. Prior to joining the Business Analysis and Risk Management group, Amar worked in the Treasury at SaskPower where his duties included financial modelling and analysis, mark to market reporting of SaskPower’s natural gas portfolio and executing commodity (natural gas) transactions on behalf of SaskPower. 

DENSON LIU, CFA, CFP, PFP
DIRECTOR

Denson was born and raised in China but his life took a transformative turn when he came to Canada in 2010 to pursue his education. He completed his undergraduate degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Saskatchewan. In 2016, he began his finance career at RBC and is now an esteemed investment advisor at RBC Dominion Securities. Denson specializes in providing wealth planning services to high-net-worth families, helping them preserve and grow their wealth. He holds an impressive array of professional designations, including CFA, CFP, and PFP, which showcase his commitment to excellence in the financial industry. Denson's dedication, warm approach, and passion for empowering clients have made him a trusted partner in their financial journeys, impacting their lives and securing prosperous futures.

ADAM LAPRAIRIE, BBA, CFA, CBV
DIRECTOR

​Adam is an Associate at PFM Capital Inc., Saskatchewan's largest private equity investment management firm. He is responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of investment opportunities, as well as monitoring the portfolio and preparing market research. Prior to joining PFM, Adam worked at Greystone Managed Investments Inc. (TD Greystone) as an Analyst Assistant on the real estate & mortgages team. He graduated from the University of Regina in 2015 with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Distinction) and Certificate in Economics. Adam became a CFA Charterholder in 2019 and a Director of CFA Society Saskatchewan in 2020.  

NEVIN MARKWART, MBA, CFA, MS Cybersecurity
DIRECTOR

After a 9-year professional hockey career with the Boston Bruins, Nevin graduated with an MBA from Northeastern University.  For the next 23 years he worked in the investment management industry focused on helping clients, ranging from individuals to sovereign wealth funds, confidently meet their investment objectives. In his CEO roles, Nevin built investment businesses emphasizing entrepreneurial and fiduciary cultures, employee ownership and a laser focus on the client. Retooled his skillsets for the new economy, Nevin earned a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Brown University.  Nevin advises the founders and board of directors of many startup companies and is the Chief Information Security Officer for the Toronto-based technology startup, Future Vault Inc.

MARTIN McINNIS, BComm (Honours), CFA, FCPA, FCMA 
DIRECTOR​

Martin McInnis is the executive director of the Co-operative Superannuation Society (CSS) Pension Plan, one of Canada’s largest and oldest defined contribution pension plans.  Martin has a strong appreciation for the positive difference that co-operative enterprise makes in the lives of everyday people and their communities. He is proud to be leading the CSS Pension Plan on behalf of more than 300 Canadian co-operative and credit union employers and approximately 54,000 employee members and retirees.  Martin has a broad range of experience and skills in the areas of strategy, finance, operations, accounting, risk management and information technology. He holds a bachelor of commerce (honours in computer science) from the University of Saskatchewan, is a chartered financial analyst (CFA) charterholder and is a chartered professional accountant.

ZAC REITMEIER, AS, CFA, CAIA

Zac is an Investment Analyst at Saskatchewan Healthcare Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP), where he is responsible for analysis and reporting on external investment managers, supporting investment manager search activity, and monitoring the Plan’s overall performance. Prior to joining SHEPP, Zac worked at Addenda Capital as an Assistant Analyst on the mortgages team, and at Aon as a co-op student on the Retirement Consulting team. He graduated from the University of Regina in 2019 with a degree in Actuarial Science. Zac became a CFA Charterholder in 2021 and a CAIA Charterholder in 2022.
