Asif Chinoy, CFA

President

Krystina Walton, CFA

Vice President

Krystina has spent her career in finance with TD Commercial Bank, as a Financial Analyst, a Relationship Manager and as Manager Commercial Credit. With 30 years of experience, Krystina has assisted companies in a wide variety of industries succeed and grow, by structuring tailored financial solutions to meet their unique needs. Krystina has a passion for improving financial literacy and diversity with respect to entrepreneurship. She is a founding partner of Womens Equity Lab, a female led group of investors that not only provide capital to companies, but provide a strong network of women who are able to act as advisors, connectors and champions of the investee. She is founding partner of Victoria Women in Real Estate & Development, championing females in the real estate investment and development industry. She currently specializes in business coaching with a focus on female entrepreneurship.

Mark Stephenson, CFA

Treasurer 

Mark Stephenson is a treasury analyst at the University of Victoria.  He received his BA in Economics with a Business minor from the University of Victoria, and is a CFA Charterholder. Prior to working at UVic, Mark has worked in investment services at a private lending firm, as well as an analyst at a real estate development company.  At UVic, Mark is responsible for managing the University’s short term investment fund,  forecasting operating cash flow requirements, as well as administering the Applied Portfolio Management Program. As Treasurer for CFA Society Victoria, his duties include drafting the budget for the year, ensuring invoices are paid, and providing monthly financial updates to the board. When Mark is not at work or working on the Society budget, he is likely out exploring Vancouver Island, or training for his next ultramarathon.

Lindsay Wakelin, CFA

Secretary

Lindsay Wakelin is an investment professional with over ten years of experience in banking and capital markets. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Alberta and is a CFA Charterholder. In Lindsay's current role as Senior Manager of Cash Solutions at BCI, she manages a team of Analysts who support system implementations, process improvements and technology solutions for Investment Operations. She has previously held roles within other areas of BCI, including Proxy Voting, Private Equity and Corporate Actions. Lindsay was a participant in the Women in Capital Markets Emerging Leaders Program in 2021-2022. She is also a member of Vox Humana Chamber Choir and has a passion for the performing arts.

Christian Mattenley, CFA

Past President

Christian Mattenley leads a private wealth management and advisory practice that provides Total Wealth Solutions to a select clientele.
With over 20 years of financial services experience, Christian uses his expertise in applied behavioral finance, portfolio management, and financial planning to promote trust and inspire confidence in pursuit of client goals and objectives. Christian holds a Master of Science in Behavioral Science from the London School of Economics, and a Professional Certificate in Investment Decisions and Behavioral Finance from Harvard University. Christian is both a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Away from the office, Christian is busy as an active committee volunteer and advisor to the Financial Planning Standards Council of Canada, and President of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Victoria. 

Brent Beagle, CFA

Membership & Candidate Services 

Brent B​​eagle currently works as a Realtor® and has helped over 500 people buy and sell their homes and investment properties. Brent enjoys helping others as a volunteer. He really adores teaching high school students about entrepreneurship and how to set up a business as part of the Junior Achievement program. Prior to his life in real estate, Brent was employed in various management positions including the general manager of a private business college. Brent attended school in Victoria in the 1980s and has lived about half his life in this fabulous city. Brent loves his life with his beautiful wife Joanne in this paradise we are so lucky to call home.​

Sanjeet Dhari, CFA

Sanjeet has 5 years of experience in the investment industry. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and is a CFA Charterholder.

Meyer Aaron, CFA

Member at Large

Meyer Aaron is a co-founder of Verterrae Partners, LLP, which was formed to develop integrated public sector and market-based solutions for sustainable finance; supporting the global transition to an ESG based economy. Prior to co-founding Verterrae,  Meyer was an Adviser at the Bank of Canada and represented the Bank on international regulatory committees. Meyer has over ten years of experience in economics and regulatory policy, and implementing collaborative initiatives across the public and private sectors.  Meyer contributed to the Bank’s policy work in Fintech, market operations frameworks, and financial system stability. He also managed the Bank’s pension fund through the 2008 financial crisis. Prior to the Bank, Meyer was a partner in a law firm representing domestic and international banks in corporate and asset financing transactions, and a principal in a venture capital firm.

Harlan Enns, CFA

Communications

Harlan Enns has worked at BCI since 2007.  Currently, he is the Director of Cash Operations and prior to that he worked as the lead relationship manager on the Municipal Pension Plan within Client Services at BCI.  Harlan graduated from Simon Fraser University with a business degree.  In the 25+ years since he has worked on all sides of the pension triangle: liabilities, administration and investment.  First at Towers Perrin where his responsibility was to perform actuarial valuations, then at the BC Pension Corporation where he was responsible for service to Public Service Pension Plan members and employers and finally at BCI.  Harlan became a CFA charter holder in 2018, well past his cognitive “prime”, so Harlan hopes that may inspire other 40 somethings to pursue their professional dreams!  In his spare time, Harlan volunteers as chaplain to the Victoria Grizzlies Junior A hockey team and as high school volleyball coach.  

Sean Dixon, CFA

Programming

Sean has 17 years experience in financial services with international exposure.  For 12 years Sean held senior roles with investment banks in London U.K. gaining extensive experience in portfolio investments and risk management.  Sean is an experienced fundamental investor and has worked closely with individuals as well as public and private companies across a spectrum of industries.  In 2018, Sean returned home to Victoria with his family and has managed discretionary investment portfolios for high-net-worth individuals. With a vision for a tailored, professional service to clients, Sean established Oneforest Investment Management in 2021. Sean is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the Victoria CFA Society.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Victoria.
