How To Make Your Fixed Income Work Harder, Private Debt

Event Description

This luncheon will provide an overview of the evolution of private debt from a somewhat obscure institutional asset class, to one that is becoming continually more accessible to all investors.

We will begin with a description of private debt. In particular, we will look at what makes it different than publicly traded debt -pros and cons, diversification benefits, better returns in a low interest rate environment. We will also discuss the different flavours of private debt, or alternative credit. Next we will look at how private debt can enhance a traditional (or non-traditional) portfolio asset mix. And finally, we will examine the ways that private debt has been made more accessible to institutions, and more recently, to private client or HNW investors.
