Webinar: Valuing private assets in institutional portfolios

    Thu, Sep 3, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (BOT)
As private markets continue to grow, valuation has become one of the most consequential and contested parts of the investment process. For private equity investors, the hardest questions often arise when portfolio-company information is incomplete, market evidence is scarce, or valuations become stale. In those circumstances, the issue is not simply which model to use, but how to test assumptions, identify bias, and reach a valuation that can withstand investment committee scrutiny. In this live fireside chat, Rafaël Le Saux, CFA, brings more than 17 years of practical valuation experience across private markets to a conversation with host Azmi Özünlü, FRM, CFA, Senior Director, Content Development at CFA Institute. A Partner in PwC Luxembourg’s Valuation & Modelling practice, Rafaël will examine how investment committees assess portfolio-company valuations built on imperfect information, where bias enters the process, and how governance, standards, and technology can strengthen valuation decisions.
