The CFA Society Portugal, in partnership with Banco Best, PIMCO, Ofi Invest Asset Management, and M&G Investments, was delighted to host the event “Global De-Dollarization: Myth or Megatrend?” on November 18 at the Fundação Cidade de Lisboa. The panel explored a key topic for the global economy: Is De-Dollarization a megatrend, or a temporary phenomenon. The main conclusion is that the process of de-dollarization has already begun, but no currency has been identified as sufficiently strong and credible to replace the dollar. On the 23rd of October, around 270 participants from the School of Business Sciences at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal attended the Financial Literacy Workshop, an initiative of Banco de Portugal and CFA Society Portugal, as part of the “My Financial Future” competition. CFA Society Portugal, represented by Pedro Barata, CFA, Executive Director, promoted a session dedicated to the CFA® Program for students of the Bachelor's Degree in Finance at the School of Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA). During the session, the main steps for obtaining CFA certification were discussed, as well as the benefits of this global qualification. As a partner of CMVM – Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (Portuguese Securities Market Commission) – in the World Investor Week initiative (October 6–10), CFA Society Portugal once again participated in the event, contributing to two sessions held at the CMVM Auditorium. In 2024, Fidelidade joined forces with the CFA Institute and CFA Society Portugal to launch a groundbreaking financial training program for its employees. This dynamic 9-month journey, designed and delivered by CFA Society Portugal members, brings the highly regarded Investment Foundations curriculum to life. The first edition kicked off in May 2024 with around 50 Fidelidade professionals eager to sharpen their financial knowledge.
