14th Annual General Meeting of CFA Society Slovenia

In early June, the 14th Annual General Meeting of the society took place in Vransko, where we elected the new Board of Directors for the 2026-2028 mandate period. Andrej Petek, CFA, was elected as the new president of the society. We sincerely congratulate Andrej on his election and wish him great success in leading the society and achieving goals that will continue to strengthen our professional community in the future. Živa Petkovšek, CFA, was elected as vice president, Matija Filiplic, CFA, as treasurer, and Katja Lukman, CFA, as secretary. Slovenian team advanced to the Global Final of CFA Research Challenge

CFA Society Slovenia congratulates the winning team of Slovenia's local finals 2025/2026 from University of Ljubljana , who prepared a valuation of Salus Group stock and advanced to the CFA Research Challenge Finals , beating tough competition from top universities in the EMEA Region. CFA Institute Scholarships

We would like to inform all potential CFA candidates that the application window for CFAI Access Scholarship opens on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. These scholarships are intended for individuals who cannot afford the full program fees. For scholarship recipients, CFA Program enrollment fee is waived, and registration is reduced to 300 USD. Currently, applications are also open for Women's, Student, and Professor Scholarships. Women's Scholarship Applications for 'Women's Scholarship' are currently open until February 5, 2024. On April 5 th , 2023, the event about Ethics and ethical behaviour in finance was held. After the “Walk through the history of ethics principles”, presented by our member Kruno Abramovič, CFA, the panel about Ethical behaviour in the financial markets was moderated by Andrej Petek, CFA and joined by speakers: Žiga Kosi (Slovenian Securities Market Agency), Aleš Ipavec (Ljubljana Stock Exchange) and Gašper Peklaj (Triglav Skladi). After the official part, the event continued on the 12 th floor of iconic Nebotičnik building.

The University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics, won the CFA Society Slovenia local finals of CFA Institute Research Challenge 2023. We are grateful to Cinkarna Celje d.d., which participated as the subject company and to its Management for providing valuable feedback to students. We wish the winning team (Ana Šenk, Gjorgji Gjorshevski and Viktor Kukunesh) great success on the next level of this competition. Congratulations to their faculty adviser, Mr Igor Lončarski and their industry mentor, Mr Matija Filiplič, CFA.
