Professional Mentor Program Overview

CFA Society Cincinnati is pleased to announce the launch of our Professional Mentorship Program.  We received a strong level of interest from our Spring survey and look forward to initiating the first Program this Fall.

As outlined below and in the Program Overview, the 2025-26 Program will begin in November and will continue through May 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

Mentors must be an active CFA Society Cincinnati member and have at least 8 years of work experience (or otherwise at the Committee's discretion).

Mentees must be an active member of the CFA Society Cincinnati. This does include Affiliate members.

Membership Information

What is it?

The Mentorship Program is designed to connect members of the CFA Society Cincinnati with more experienced members of our organization and to offer a framework that enables professional growth, builds knowledge, expands networks, and opens avenues to acquiring career and industry insights all within an atmosphere of confidentiality, trust, and respect. It is not designed to provide job-specific training or placement opportunities.

What are the benefits?

For mentors, the Program provides a good opportunity to cultivate coaching, communication and leadership skills that are portable across one’s career. It also affords a chance to give back to the investment community and to make a positive impact on the next generation of professionals within a structured framework, and over a defined period.

For mentees, the Program affords the opportunity to acquire new perspectives on the industry, to gain insight on how to accomplish individual goals, and to obtain long-term skill development advice from more seasoned professionals.

What is my time commitment?

We estimate the total time commitment to be approximately 5-7 hours over the course of the Program period.

What events are involved?

We are planning a happy hour kickoff at Madtree, a Cincinnati Cyclones game, two morning coffee chats, and a Cincinnati Reds game for mentors and mentees. We strongly encourage mentors and mentees to attend at least one CFA Society of Cincinnati event together.

If I'm interested, what are my next steps?

  1. Decide if you would like to be a mentor or mentee and review the program guidelines

  2. Submit either the brief mentor or mentee application by Friday, October 3rd.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the Professional Mentorship Program Chair, Chauncey Joyce.
