Membership Types
Membership Type 1: CFA Institute + CFA Society Colorado
Charterholder Member - $424 annually
- $299 CFA Institute Membership + $125 CFA Society Colorado Membership
- For distinguished individuals who have demonstrated professional excellence by completing the CFA® Program.
- Completion of the CFA Program, 4,000 hours of eligible work experience and professional references.
Professional Member - $424 annually
- $299 CFA Institute Membership + $125 CFA Society Colorado Membership
- To join CFA Institute as a Professional member, you must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 4,000 hours of work experience. You must receive a passing score for the Level I CFA® exam, CIPM® Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands exam, the self-administered Standards of Practice exam, or hold the ASIP designation.
Membership Type 2: CFA Society Colorado Only
Local Member - $190 annually
- $190 CFA Society Colorado Membership
- For individuals who do not wish to join the CFA Institute but want to be involved in their local CFA chapter
Candidate Member - $120 annually
- $120 CFA Society Colorado Membership
- For local members who are in the process of completing their CFA® Program
Student Member - $60 annually
- $60 CFA Society Colorado Membership
- For students pursuing degrees related to finance, business, economics, or investment decision-making.
Membership with the CFA Institute is required to earn and maintain the charter and signals global standards of ethics and competence, while a local CFA Society Colorado membership connects you to professionals, events, and insights in Colorado.

Membership runs annually (July 1 – June 30)
Dues vary by membership type and include both CFA Institute and local society fees (where applicable)
Candidate and Student memberships are local society memberships only
