Ashraf El Khatib, CFA, passed the CFA Institute’s Certificate in ESG Investing exam. El Khatib is the Chief Investment Officer - Private Equity at Ekuity Holding, a member of the Education Advisory Committee at CFA Institute, the Vice President of CFA Society Egypt, and the Chair of the ESG committee at the Society.

Chris Fidler is a Head of the Codes & Standards team at CFA Institute. He led the development of the Global ESG Disclosure Standards for Investment Products—the first global voluntary standard for disclosing how an investment product considers ESG issues in its objectives, investment process, and stewardship activities. Mr. Fidler has expert-level knowledge of investment product ESG disclosure regulations globally and currently serves on the UK FCA Disclosure & Labelling Advisory Group. Prior to joining CFA Institute, Mr. Fidler was a management consultant at Thought Logic Consulting, LLC, and served in a number of management and analyst roles at Capital One Financial Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Tarek Shahin is the chief investment officer of CI Capital Asset Management, a leading investment manager in Egypt. Tarek has more than 15 years of experience in the field of investment management and finance, previously having been a managing director of global emerging market equities at Manulife Investment Management, and prior to that a portfolio manager and specialist at Ninety One (formerly Investec Asset Management), based in London, UK.

Mr. Morsy is currently in charge of finance operations for Finance in Motion (FiM) in Egypt and Yemen. FiM is a Frankfurt-based asset management company and serves as the Advisor for the SANAD and Green for Growth Fund, which offer financing to financial institutions and businesses to improve access to finance for SMEs and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency. Mr. Morsy has worked for FiM for almost 11 years and has a background in investment banking, credit risk management, and corporate lending. Prior to joining FiM, he worked at Prime Capital and Arab African International Bank, where he led several syndicated loans in various industries. He holds a Masters in Investment Banking and Islamic finance from Henley Business School and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick. Mr. Morsy also teaches in the MBA program at the Maastricht School of Business and has delivered courses in various subjects both in and outside of Egypt.

Alia ElKadi is an Environmental and Social Development Specialist at IFC based in Cairo, Egypt. She has extensive experience of supporting institutions operating in Africa to integrate sustainability considerations into their businesses to reduce risk and create value. She has a strong understanding of the application of the IFC Performance Standards on Environmental and Social Sustainability, the World Bank Group Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines, and the Equator Principles to businesses operating across a variety of sectors across the continent. Alia will be co-leading the Integrated ESG Egypt Program that aims to promote and increase the uptake of good ESG risk management practices in Egypt.
