CIO/PM Insights - Ryan Crane (Stephens), Behavioral Finance and Active/Passive

Event Description

Behavioral Finance and the Future of Active vs. Passive

Behavioral Finance layers the study of psychology on top of economic theory. Human nature and the psychology of investing cause individuals to make bad decisions. Understanding these behavioral biases will help you overcome these tendencies and become a better investor, and perhaps even exploit inefficiencies created in the market by others' irrational behavior. The program will also discuss the impact of passive investing on market efficiency. As more dollars are allocated into ETFs and passive investment strategies on market capitalization alone, without regard for fundamentals, the market is becoming less efficient.
