Jeffrey E. Curtiss, CFA

Jeffrey E. Curtiss is a private investor. From January 2000 to June 2006, Mr. Curtiss served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Service Corporation International, a leading provider of funeral and cemetery services. Previously, Mr. Curtiss was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Browning-Ferris Industries, Inc. from January 1992 to July 1999. Mr. Curtiss holds two law degrees and a CPA certificate, and became a CFA charterholder in 2006. Mr. Curtiss was the President of the CFA Society of Houston during the 2012-2013 fiscal year and remains on its Board of Directors.

Jason S. Leder, CFA             


Jason Leder is Chief Investment Officer of Leder Fiduciary Capital LLC and has 28 years of investment experience. Previously, Jason Leder had been a Portffolio Manager with the Invesco/Van Kampen Value Opportunities Fund and with the Invesco/Van Kampen Comstock Fund. At both Invesco and at Van Kampen, Mr. Leder served as Senior Portfolio Manager and as Managing Director.  Previously, Mr. Leder served as a Securities Analyst at Salomon Brothers, Fidelity Management and Research, Gabelli & Company, and Austin, Calvert, and Flavin.  Mr. Leder is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Houston.  Mr. Leder holds a CFA designation.  Mr. Leder earned a M.B.A. degree from Columbia University and a B.B.A. degree in Finance with a concentration in Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated from St. John’s School in Houston.  ​

Lee Partridge, CFA

Lee Partridge is a private investor with over 25 years of investment experience. Mr. Partridge served as the Chief Investment Officer of Salient Partners from December 2010 through October 2016. Previously, Mr. Partridge founded Integrity Capital to provide outsourced CIO services to public pension systems. He also held positions as the Deputy CIO and Director of Fixed Income for the Teacher Retirement System. During his early career, Mr. Partridge served in a variety of portfolio and risk management roles within the banking and insurance industries.

Mr. Partridge holds the CFA and CAIA designations and received an MBA from Rice University and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Houston.​

Mahesh Desai, CPA, CFP, CFA

Mahesh Desai is a financial advisor, Registered Principal with SagePoint Financial Inc. and has been in the CPA practice in Houston since 1993. He has also served as a Senior Financial Services Executive at MetLife from 1993 to 2013. During his association with MetLife, he was involved in insurance, retirement and asset management businesses and oversaw business development, product management and marketing activities for the company's agencies. He was also responsible for overseeing financial reporting, planning, and expense management for the agencies. 

Before he moved to the USA in 1993, he worked as an accountant and financial controller at Indian Oil Corporation, a fortune 500 Corporation. He also worked as a Public Accountant during his study of Chartered Accountancy in India and CPA in USA. Additionally, he conducted internal, system and financial audits of large manufacturing, banking and insurance clients and directed audit staff and audit programs. During his career he had various roles involving: strategic and tactical planning, business development, human relations, accounting, auditing, finance, and risk and investment management fields in the USA and internationally. He also participates in volunteer activities hosted by the CFA Institute.

Mr. Desai is CFA Charter holder, CPA, CFP, Chartered Accountant and holds Master’s Degree in Accounting & Commerce from the Maharaja Sayajirao University- India. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, registrations.

Natalie M. Kassenyeva, CFA, PRM

Ms. Kassenyeva, a native Azerbaijani, graduated from Baku State University with the Diploma in Computer Science and Applied Mathematic in 1995. She also holds MS in Finance from Texas A&M University. Ms. Kassenyeva received her CFA charter in 2002 and PRM designation in 2011.

Prior to attending Texas A&M Ms. Kassenyeva worked as a Financial Manager for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Azerbaijan and Project Secretary for UNICEF/Azerbaijan. Ms. Kassenyeva was with Paul Comstock Partners for over 10 years. Her responsibilities as a Vice President of Research included investment manager searches, performance monitoring, asset allocation and investment analysis for high net worth individuals and endowment/foundations.  Ms. Kassenyeva also worked with Citibank / Commercial Lending Division. Her responsibilities included detailed financial, ratio and trend analysis, quantitative credit risk analysis, collateral evaluation, risk rating monitoring and adjustment.

Currently, Ms. Kassenyeva, is on the BP Strategic Credit Team.  Her current duties include supporting the management of the E&P and Retail Energy Providers (REP) lien structure portfolios, the negotiation of credit terms for physical and financial contract, and credit risk management.

Luis Vaca Gomez, CFA

Luis Vaca, CFA, joined the Houston office of SMBC in June 2007 and is responsible for leading new energy related transactions in SMBC’s Americas Division.  He is also responsible for the ongoing management of existing relationships, representing the bank with existing and prospective clients, and supporting the credit approval for new transactions and monitoring of the performance of his lending portfolio.


Luis has over 10 years of experience in the energy industry, with special focus on commercial and financial aspects, including evaluation of investments in E&P activities in North America, international trading of petroleum related products, and development of new business opportunities not only in the oil & gas industry, but also in the specialty chemical sector.

Prior to joining SMBC in Houston, he worked for JM Huber Corp as Director of New Business Development (5 yrs), and was Senior Trader of liquified gas products in PMI Comercio Internacional, the international branch of PEMEX (7 years).  He received his MBA from the Tuck Shool of Business at Dartmouth College in 2002, and his a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 1993.

Leah Bennett, CFA         
                              

Ms. Bennet joined Westwood in 2016 and has over 24 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining Westwood, Ms. Bennett was Co-Chief Investment Officer at South Texas Money Management, where she shared responsibility for overseeing teh investment strategies of the firm. Prior to that, Ms. Bennett was a Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at King Investment Advisors, Inc. and a Research Analyst for Capital Research & Management. She formerly served as the CFA Institute President's Council Representative for the South Central United States and Latin America. Ms. Bennett is a Co-Founder of the CFA Women in Investment Management initiative and the CFA Institute Global Research Challenge of the Southwest. She currently serves on the Wright Fund Oversight Board at Rice University and on the Advisory Council of Executives (ACEs) at the Bill Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University. She received her BS in economics from Texas A&M University.

Fred Mammadbayov is a Portfolio Risk Manager – Advanced Data Analytics at with a major oil and gas company in downtown Houston.  He analyzes positioning and risks to global trading portfolios and participates in deal flow activities, especially as related to economic modelling, deal structuring, and management information systems.  Prior to his current position, he analyzed mutual funds.  Before, he worked in early state companies and technology consulting.

 
Fred received Master of Science in Mathematics and Master of Science in Computer Science from Syracuse University, NY.  He earned his CFA charter in 2010 and volunteered for CFA Society of Houston since.

Robert Tinnell is a Manager in Deloitte’s Transactions and Business Analytics practice.  His primary assignments include a variety of advisory engagements for mergers & acquisitions, purchase price allocations, tax planning, strategic planning, and other special projects.

Mr. Tinnell has more than six years of professional experience in which he has provided financial and technical consulting services to clients in the oil and gas, mining, consumer and industrial products, and financial services industries.  Mr. Tinnell has participated in a variety of financial advisory engagements, including valuations for tax planning and financial reporting, valuation of equity interests in a privately held company, valuations for strategic planning analysis, valuation of debt instruments, goodwill impairment studies, and other financial modeling exercises.  

Prior to graduating from Rice University, Mr. Tinnell worked as an Operations Analyst at a consumer goods distribution company.

Olga V. Inchauste, CFA

            

Olga Inchauste is a Senior Portfolio Manager in Texas Market. She joined HSBC Houston office in August 2013. As a Portfolio Manager, she is responsible for managing credit and market risks associated with the team’s diverse loan portfolio while simultaneously supporting the growth objectives of the team.

Olga comes to HSBC from Bank of America where she has worked since 1997 and held multiple roles in Commercial and Large Corporate banking including the positions of Vice President - Sr. Credit Product Underwriter and Sr. Credit Portfolio Manager. She worked also at US Bank as a Team Leader in Commercial Banking in 2007. Her overall banking experience spans over 18 years.
Olga brings a strong global experience to her position at HSBC. A native of Moscow, she has lived and studied in Germany for about 8 years, after which she worked for 5 years in South America with a German chemical multinational corporation, BASF AG, and extensively traveled across the Andean Region. Olga also gained experience in different emerging markets by having worked as a Director in Corporate Finance and Debt Restructuring Advisory at KPMG in Russia and CIS from 2008 to 2010. She is fluent and able to conduct business in Russian, German, and Spanish and English.

Olga earned a BS degree in Industrial Engineering and Economics from the Technical University of Dresden in Germany and her Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on finance from the University of Washington in Seattle. She holds one of the most prestigious certification for financial professionals - Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Olga is a Member of CFA Institute globally, and CFA society of Houston locally.

She is married and lives in Houston with her husband Ron, and their younger daughter. Her older daughter lives in Copenhagen, Denmark. She and her husband are avid tennis players, and enjoy ballet and opera.

Siby Abraham, CFA

Siby Abraham is a Senior Manager in the Advisory Services practice.  His primary assignments have included a variety of advisory engagements for mergers & acquisitions, purchase price allocation, employee stock options, tax planning, and other special projects.

Mr. Abraham has more than fifteen years of professional experience in which he has provided financial and technical consulting services to clients in the Energy and Resources, Technology, and Investment Management industries.  Mr. Abraham has participated in a variety of financial advisory engagements, including valuations for tax planning and financial reporting, valuation of equity interests in a privately held company, stock option valuations, valuation of debt instruments, preferred yield studies, impairment of long-lived assets studies, goodwill impairment studies, cheap stock valuations, and other financial modeling exercises.  

Prior to graduating from Rice University, Mr. Abraham worked as a Technical Architect in a software consulting company serving clients primarily in the oilfield services sector.  Additionally, as part of his graduate studies he spent a summer working for TXU Energy as a Finance & Strategy Intern supporting the company’s commercial operations and developing metrics to measure the impact of new pricing strategies.

He serves as Chairman of its Audit Committee and also serves on its Nominating & Corporate Governance Committee.  He served as a member of its Independent Committee which evaluated aspects of the KBR split-off from Halliburton and also served on the KBR Compensation and Nominating/Corporate Governance Committees during 2007.

Mr. Curtiss received a BSBA degree from the University of  Nebraska College of Business Administration (1970) with high distinction; a JD degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law (1971) and an LLM degree in taxation from the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis (1975).  He became a CPA in 1971; a practicing lawyer in 1972 and a CFA charterholder in 2006.   He has experience with Peat, Marwick & Mitchell, a CPA firm, and with Nelson, Harding, Marchetti, Leonard & Tate, a law firm.  From 1973-2006, he was employed by Monsanto Company, G.D. Searle & Co., The Coleman Company; Heritage Media Corporation; Browning-Ferris Industries or Service Corporation International.  He served as a Chief Financial Officer from 1988-2006.

Jill Foote, PhD, CFA

Jill Foote is Senior Lecturer in Finance at Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business, where her principal teaching responsibilities are in investment management. She is also Rice’s Director of the El Paso Corporation Finance Center, Director of the M.A. Wright Fund (the MBA student-managed investment portfolio). She is also the faculty advisor to the Rice Finance Club and is Executive Director of the Rice Summer Business Institute for high school students from Houston’s low and moderate income communities.

Dr. Foote has 13 years of experience from Goldman Sachs in New York. Her final seven years there were spent as a Vice President, managing projects covering strategic initiatives, new business ventures, risk management, and operational, regulatory, and financial audits and risk reviews. The first six years were spent as a sales associate in Fixed Income – first in Money Markets, then in Emerging Debt.

She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Fordham University, an M.A. in Economics from New York University, and a B.A. in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She also has a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

James Jordon, CFA

Jim Jordon is a Director in the Houston Financial Advisory Services practice.  He has over 12 years of experience in the valuation of businesses, business interests, and intangible assets across different industries and sizes of companies.  Jim’s client responsibilities include client development and service, project leadership, and reviewing and approving reports and analyses.

Mr. Jordon’s assignments have included assisting in both buy and sell-side advisory, transaction structuring, debt capacity analysis, and valuation studies. In addition, Mr. Jordon has provided valuation services related to Intellectual Property, Buy-Sell Agreements, Federal Tax, GAAP, and other regulatory purposes. He has experience in valuing international investments and addressing valuation issues related to the cost of capital, currency risk, and country-specific risk factors. He has worked on international valuation assignments involving purchase allocations, impairment testing, and the valuation of private equity portfolios. Most recently, he has prepared valuations in the health care, energy, consumer business and manufacturing industries.

Before joining Deloitte FAS, Mr. Jordon was a Senior Analyst with a Houston-based boutique valuation firm.  His previous experience also includes Business Valuation Resources, LLC, in Portland, Oregon, where he was the Managing Editor of Shannon Pratt’s Business Valuation Update.  Finally, before entering the field of private equity and business valuation, Jim was an investment advisor employed by Bank United Financial Markets and PaineWebber.

Ronald Joe, CFA

Ronald H. Joe is Senior Portfolio Manager at Frost Invesment Advisors.  Previously, he was Director of Portfolio Management at AIG Investments.  Since 2000, he supervised a group of external portfolio managers with over $20 billion in assets under management. From 1995 through 1999, Ronald held investment positions at American General Corporation (AGC) before its merger with AIG. As Senior Investment Manger he managed a derivatives hedge portfolio, and as Associate Portfolio Manager he co-managed a fixed income portfolio in the corporate pension fund. Ronald joined AGC in 1992 as Corporate Development Analyst in the Office of the President, where he managed mergers and acquisitions, developed capital allocation strategies, and consulted on corporate finance policy. He has also served as finance director for a private investment company and as budget officer for an international development foundation. A native Houstonian, Ronald earned BA degrees in economics and business from Rice University and an MBA in finance, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.  In addition to the CFA® charter, he holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.

Pat is a portfolio manager and securities analyst for King Investment Advisors, Inc. Pat, a CFA charterholder and Chartered Investment Counselor, has been with the firm eighteen years and has twenty-seven years of experience in the investment business. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Economics. He also has an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. His business experience includes serving as a United States Air Force contract negotiator/financial analyst at Hughes Aircraft, and as an acquisition-financing specialist at Republic Bank Dallas, where he managed a fixed-income portfolio of senior secured private placements in its Media & Communications Lending

Group. Before joining KING, Pat served as a high yield fixed-income portfolio manager/analyst for US WEST Financial Services. Currently, Pat is Managing Director and Chief Compliance Officer for King Investment Advisors. He serves on the Board of Governors Investment Adviser Association (“IAA”), is Chair of the IAA PAC, and is a member of the IAA Membership Committee. Pat is a former member of the CFA Institute Professional Development Committee, and is a former President of the CFA Society of Houston.
