Taku Arai, CFA, is the Deputy Head of Japanese Equities at Schroders Investment Management, based in Tokyo, Japan. Taku joined Schroders in August 2011 as a Product Manager for Japanese equities. He became a Head of Equities Management, Japan in November 2015 and since then, he has been a member of Executive Management Committee of Schroders Japan. Prior to joining Schroders, he was a portfolio manager at BNY Mellon Asset Management Japan from 2010 to 2011, covering various products for Japanese clients. Before that, Taku held the roles of Equity Product Specialist and Client Services Manager at AllianceBernstein Japan from 2005 to 2010. Taku started his investment career in 2001 as a portfolio manager for private bank clients at Citigroup Asset Management, Japan. He also worked at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi for three years upon graduation (1998-2001). Taku holds an MBA in financial strategy from the Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy, Hitotsubashi University (2006), and received Master’s degree in Economics from Chiba University (2012) and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University (1998). Taku is a CFA charterholder (2007), a Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA, 2006), and a Certified Member Analyst of the Security Analysts Association of Japan (CMA, 2003).

Chunmei Huang, CFA
Ms. Huang is Senior Director of Shinsei Corporate Investment Limited, Representative Director of Shinsei Impact Investment Limited in Shinsei Bank Group.Since joined Shinsei Bank in 2005, Ms. Huang has consistently engaged in principal investment and built private equity investment career. Ms. Huang has also performed as a member of multiple funds’ investment committee, board director and/or corporate supervisor for portfolio companies and funds’ general partner. Ms. Huang setup the impact team in 2017, currently managing 2 impact investment funds, “Childcare Support Fund” and “HATARAKU (WORK) Fund” as investment committee member. The “Childcare Support Fund” was the first impact investment fund for Japanese bank group. Ms. Huang is also the board director member of JihSun Financial Holding Co., Ltd (Listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange), member of Japan National Advisory Board of GSG, visiting researcher of Center for Social Investment, Tama University, Member of “SDGs measurement model review committee” of Kanagawa prefecture, Japan etc. Ms. Huang received B.A. in Finance from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and MBA from Kobe University. She is also a CFA Charter holder and AICPA of Delaware, USA. Ms. Huang has been awarded as “Woman of the Year 2019” by Nikkei Woman.
Fumihiko Imamura, CFA
Fumihiko Imamura, CFA joined CFA Japan Society's board of directors in November 2020. His contribution to the society began as a volunteer member for JIC 2020 working group, where he later joined the administrative team as a director. He also has a key focus on the advocacy committee where he is responsible for the ARX sub-committee. He has been engaged in financial market operation for the past 13 years with a highly successful track record in a wide range of IT project management and bilingual relationship management at Tokyo Stock Exchange and Osaka Exchange. Mr. Imamura holds an MBA from IESE Business School and an MA and BA in economics from Chiba University. He is an active rugby player in a local league.
Zuhair Khan, CFA
Senior Portfolio Manager, UBP Investments Co. Ltd. Zuhair manages a governance-focused, market-neutral, Japanese equity long-short strategy at UBP. Prior to joining UBP, he had been the Head of Research and Japan Strategist at Jefferies; where his research focused on corporate governance reform, shareholder activism and event driven strategies. Zuhair has 25 years of experience at global financial institutions, including UBS, Citigroup and MUFG. He has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with dual degrees from the School of Engineering and the Wharton School.
Ryujiro Miki, CFA
Ryujiro Miki is accountable for leading Advocacy Committee since 2019. He collaborates across the CFA Institute APAC societies by participating Ethics Challenge as well as contributing to ARX Webinars as a thought leader. He had been working at one of the largest institutional investors in Japan, Dai-ichi Life. His responsibility included quantitative investment, asset allocation and ALM (Asset Liability Management) analysis.
Chie Mitsui
Chie Mitsui is a graduate of the Tokyo University of Science and has a masters degree from Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science. Before joining Nomura Research Institute in 2008, she worked at Jiji Press Ltd. Chie specializes in corporate disclosure information and associated systems, IFRS, and corporate governance. Also a member of IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group (ITCG) of International Accounting Standard Board 2014, she has been publishing articles and reports regarding efficient disclosure information for investors' & analysts' activities. In the past several years, Chie has been researching the trends of disclosure systems, environmental investment, corporate governance code, and the impact on those issues from the UK and EU related discussion. As well as issues related to IFRS disclosure and data utilization.
Akira Okada, CFA
Akira Okada has been working for Manulife since 2004, most recently as a Chief Investment Officer for Manulife Japan General Account since 2013 after having taken various senior roles at Manulife Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. Prior to joining Manulife, he was a head of fixed income at Fukoku Capital Management, with managing pension money between 1999 and 2004. He started his investment career at Long Term Credit Bank of Japan as a proprietary dealer of various products, like fx, money market and derivatives in Hong Kong, New York and London since 1988. He holds bachelor degree of Law and MBA from Hitotsubashi University in Japan. He has been mentor for Research Challenge since 2018 and a member of Advocacy committee of CFA Japan Society since 2018.
Shin Okazaki, CFA
Shin Okazaki is an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities Co., Ltd. His primary responsibilities are within Institutional Equites Division, and he has been involved in various cross-divisional transactions and strategic initiatives. He is a member of Morgan Stanley Japan’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and a Co-Chair of Tokyo Family Network. At CFA Society Japan, Shin chaired the Japan Investment Conference 2020 Working Group and has also assumed the role of Membership Committee Chair since June 2020. Shin received a BA from McGill University and is a CFA Charter holder.
Masafumi Oshiden
Mr. Oshiden has over 30 years of career solely in the investment management business. He has worked as a fund manager and head of Japan Equity Investment Management Department at BNY Mellon Investment Management Japan since 2013. The entire team was taken out from ING Investment Management (currently NN Investment Partners), where he assumed a similar role since 2009. Together with his colleagues, he rebuilt the investment team at ING, bringing in new process and people, and successfully turned performance around. Prior to joining ING, he was a director, fund manager, and head of research for Japanese equities at BlackRock Japan, including the times at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which was acquired by BlackRock in 2006. Before joining MLIM in 2001, he was a fund manager for global ex-Japan equities, Japanese equities, and multi-asset funds at Toyo Trust & Banking (currently Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking) since 1996. Prior to becoming a fund manager, he worked as an equities analyst at Baillie Gifford in Edinburgh, UK, where he was seconded from Toyo Trust in 1993. He joined Toyo Trust in 1990, first serving as a fund administrator. He earned a BA degree in business and commerce from Keio University in 1990.
Yasuko Sato, CFA
Yasuko Sato is Director and Client Portfolio Manager specialised in Japanese equity at Invesco Asset Management Japan, with nearly 20-year experience in the asset management industry. Yasuko previously spent nine years in London in a similar role at Asset Management One and JPMorgan Asset Management. Before being seconded to London, she worked as a research analyst covering the transportation sector for six years at JPMorgan Asset Management in Tokyo. She holds a B.A. in Literature from Waseda University and an M.A. in International Management (Hons) from Thunderbird School of Global Management. She has the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Yoshimasa Satoh, CFA
Mr. Yoshimasa Satoh, CFA, is Lead Account Manager, Buy and Sell Side Solutions, Market Technology at Nasdaq. He has been in charge of portfolio management, research & development and implementation in multi-asset investment strategy, trading, information technology, and data science, throughout his career. Previously, he served as a portfolio manager of Quantitative Investment Strategies at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and other companies. He started his career at Nomura Research Institute, where he led Nomura Securities’ equity trading technology team. Yoshimasa has been Board Director of CFA Society Japan since October 2018. Yoshimasa has a lot of experience in moderating meetings/seminars and serving as a speaker of global conferences, which were hosted by CFA Institute, Institutional Investor, and so forth.
Moet Shigeta, CFA
Moet Shigeta has joined Nippon Finance Management Kaisha Ltd; an investment advisory boutique specialized in Japanese equity, initially as an analyst to cover variety of sectors in 2010 and subsequently as co-advisor, before taking sole responsibility as a fund advisor in 2018 serving international institutional investors mainly in Europe. He conducts fundamental approach to offer optimal equity portfolios for his clients. Since he became a CFA charterholder in 2015, he has volunteered in variety of events and projects of CFA society Japan including Japan Investment Conference and founded CFA Japan Book Club in 2019. He holds Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Pace University.
Shuntaro Tsukamoto, CFA
Shuntaro Tsukamoto, CFA, is a deputy director at Financial Services Agency, Government of Japan. He is responsible for financial and economic education for students and adults. He also conducts promotional activities for monthly installment type NISA, a tax exempt investment scheme. Prior to that, Mr. Tsukamoto was the head of Product Management at Vanguard Investments Japan. He was in charge of the client/media engagements, and spoke at both institutional and retail conferences on a wide range of investment related topics. Previously, Mr. Tsukamoto held various investment and relationship management roles at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, BlackRock, and UBS Asset Management. He is a member of CFA Japan Society and a graduate of Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Statutory Auditors
Masahide Ooka, CFA
Masahide Ooka joined CFA Society Japan as a Statutory Auditor in October 2019. He has been engaged in the financial industry for the past 36 years, 26 years of which have been in Japan’s asset management industry. He currently works for PGIM Japan, the Global Investment Management Businesses of Prudential Financial, Inc, as a Chief Product Specialist for Equity and Multi-Asset Strategies. Prior to joining PGIM Japan in September 2017, he spent 12 years with AllianceBernstein Japan. He was a Senior Portfolio Manager for the range of Equity strategies and appointed as an Executive Officer in 2012. Previously, he worked for Schroder Investment Management Japan as Head of Product Marketing Department and a Product Manager for Japanese Equity Strategies. He started his business career at The Industrial Bank of Japan (IBJ), where he assumed portfolio management role at IBJ NW Asset Management, IBJ’s asset management subsidiary. Mr. Ooka holds an MBA from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received a BA in Economics from the Hitotsubashi University. He earned his CFA charter in 1998.
Atsushi Tomono, CFA
Atsushi Tomono is a statutory auditor of the CFA society in Japan, performing the duties of overseeing the Directors’ execution of their business activities and prepare the audit report as required under applicable Law. He has a long period of experiences in audit and advisor services in an accounting firm and is a part time instructor at Hitotsubashi University teaching basics of accounting. He earned a Bachelor of commerce from Hitotsubashi University. He is a CFA charter holder and a member of the CFA Society in Japan.
Takaaki Yoda, CFA
Mr. Yoda has more than 40 years of experience in the capital markets. In the early stage of his professional career, he held various positions within the Daiwa Securities Group, such as an Equity Analyst, Market Strategist, and Senior Portfolio Manager. Despite having started his own investment advisory shop in Sapporo, he came back to Tokyo as Head of Investments at Citibank’s asset management group in Japan and took a charge of the bank’s fiduciary investment activity from 1993 to 2000. Subsequently, Mr. Yoda set up APS Asset Management (Japan) Co. Ltd. for Japanese equity research; conducted hedge fund research for Cadogan Management LLC. (a NY-based fund of funds); and worked as an investment consultant to corporate pension funds until joining Gordian Capital Japan Limited as Chief Advisor in 2016 before becoming CIO in 2020. In the meantime, as for CFA Society Japan, he served as the Board Member and Statutory Auditor from 2008 to 2011 and also as Executive Director from 2016 to 2017. He received his BA in Law from Waseda University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.
