Mexico adopted GIPS Standards to promote the investment performance and increase transparency for investors.
CFA Society Mexico signed as one of the first sponsors of Global Standard Investment Performance (GIPS ®) in Latin America.
Mexico City, July 18th, 2012 - Mexico has become one of the first countries in Latin America to adopt the Standards Global Investment Performance (GIPS): ethical principles that offer to investment companies a guide on the calculation and reporting of investment results to their prospective clients. GIPS standards will give Mexican investors additional transparency they need to compare and evaluate investment managers, through the global standardization of the measurement and reporting of investment performance.
As investor demand drives product innovation, the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) are evolving to ensure practical, investment industry relevance while maintaining their core purpose: delivering performance transparency and comparability.
The 2020 GIPS Standards Exposure Draft represented an important milestone — in both the evolution of the GIPS standards and in ensuring their relevance for all asset classes and types of investment managers.
