 Career Development Network

Welcome to the Career Development Network, CFA Society Minnesota’s one-stop shop for all things related to professional development. We’re glad you’re here and want to serve as a resource on your many career development endeavors – from networking requests to finding the right CFA Institute materials – we’re here to help!

CFA Institute

Did you know CFA Institute's Career Center has grown exponentially in the last two years? Check-out their resources including a global job board, topical webinars, industry articles and more! Many of these resources are open and free to everyone regardless of membership status.

Local highlights:

  • Attend a program found on our calendar of events page relating to a soft-skill you're hoping to refine such as negotiation
    • Past topics include: professional speaking group, leadership seminar, social skills workshop, etc.
  • Check out our monthly 'Day in the Life' series featuring a different industry role led by local CFA Charterholders and volunteers

 Society Connection Center

Are you looking for a connection to a CFA Candidate or CFA Charterholder residing in Minnesota, North Dakota or South Dakota? Then you've come to the right place! The goal of this initiative is to help members build their network while creating a networking request process. Individuals may submit a networking request two times throughout the membership year. Priority will be given to local-only or dual (CFA Institute + CFA Society Minnesota) members.

Who should apply?

  • CFA Charterholders, CFA Candidates, students and other investment professionals interested in learning about:
    • Different areas of the investment industry
    • Specific job roles or companies
    • The CFA Charter designation or other financial accreditations (CAIA, CMT, CFP)
    • Getting involved with CFAMN
    • The local financial market
    • Career paths

Who does it work?

Form submissions will be reviewed by Society staff around the 15th of every month. Applicants will be connected with a Society volunteer(s) that match the criteria they've outlined (to the best of our abilities) for an informal conversation (in-person or remote).

 Industry Roundtable

New to our Society are Industry Roundtable Events. These feature senior investment industry professionals on their area of expertise such as wealth management, family office, asset management, etc.

Attendees spend time at several tables throughout the event learning about different roles and career paths. Check the calendar of events for current offerings.
