CFA Society VBA Netherlands cordially invites you to our
annual New Year Celebration, including a presentation on:
Ideas for Better Performance in 2019
2018 was a year of change, consolidation, celebration and
concern for our association and our members. The annual New Year
Celebration is our chance to thank you for your continued support as a member,
volunteer, committee participant, event attendee, VBA Journaal contributor,
sponsor and general supporter.
We start off with a welcome by society president Jacco
Heemskerk. Next Han van
Lamoen will give
us a recap of the Sweepstakes 2018 results including an analysis of important
economic indicators, members’ predictions and the announcement of this year’s
sweepstakes winner. The presentation
will be in Dutch, but there will be an English translation available.
After that we learn about ways in which we can improve
our personal and corporate results by opening up to the concept of ‘diversity
of thought.’ There is a lot of research
and commentary suggesting that diversity leads to better results. Yet implementation seems to have become a ‘box-ticking’
exercise rather than real, measurable commitment on behalf of individuals and
companies, and measuring actual progress has eluded us. Are we diversifying for
the ‘wrong’ reasons? Maybe what the industry needs is some real, practical,
quantifiable reasons for embracing diversity.
Lindsay Hudson, Invesco’s
Diversity and Inclusion Manager for EMEA will lead a discussion on how we can incorporate
diversity of thought into our daily processes to help us inspire and embrace the
best ideas that will lead us to better performance. Lindsay will share insights on the
different dimensions of diversity, the theoretical framework and how you could
translate theory into practice in an organization. Lindsay will introduce how
Invesco are approaching their Diversity and Inclusion journey and moving Diversity of Thought to generating the best ideas for better
performance in 2019 and beyond.
