The renewed RBA program (formerly VU-VBA Investment Management) starts in September 2020 with the first module Understanding Clients and Behaviours!
The VBA-VU module Understanding Clients and Behaviours provides participants insight into the first phase of the investment process, which is about detailing client requirements and related investment behaviours as the basis for the design of effective investment processes.
Knowing your client should be the first step in every financial advice. Moreover, knowing your client is -especially since the financial crisis of 2008-2009– the main keyword in financial supervision. In this module we dig into a few essential elements of a client profile. What is the client’s risk appetite and how can we measure it? What behavioural biases are well known and how can we cope with these? The answer on these questions amongst others – gives you the tools to build a sound and “supervisory proof” investment policy statement for your client.
In this interactive online workshop Dr. Gosse Alserda CFA, one of the key lecturers, will provide a sneak preview about part of this this module. Based on his research he will demonstrate how to use individual investor preferences in setting asset allocation, while controlling for behavioural biases. In his daytime job, Gosse works as an Investment Strategist within the fiduciary services & investment solutions team of Aegon Asset Management. As an investment strategist he advices institutional investors on their strategic asset allocation.
