The Great Debate: Active vs. Passive

Event Description

The great shift from Active to Passive investing may be approaching a tipping point in 2019 with passively managed equity funds approaching 50% of global assets for the first time in history. Passive has moved from 20% of overall assets 2004 to nearly 50% today marking an inflection point for the investment industry, which for decades has favored stock-and-bond pickers seeking to beat the market.

Please join us on Wednesday, May 22nd at the Citrus Club for dinner, drinks and a panel of investment experts on both sides of “The Great Debate: Active vs. Passive” to discuss recent asset allocation trends for Active and Passive investing, the merits of Active and Passive investment strategies, and the outlook for the future of our industry.

The CFA Society of Orlando is honored to have Mike Welker, President & CEO of AndCo Consulting, moderate this event along with the following participating firms:

  • DePrince, Race & Zollo, Inc. - Active
  • JPMorgan - Active
  • MFS - Active
  • INVESCO ETFS - Passive
  • Parametric - Passive
  • BlackRock - Passive
