Speaker: Tariq Fancy, Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer of Sustainable Investing at BlackRock
Education Topic: Sustainable investing, ESG investing
As CIO for BlackRock’s Sustainable Investing initiative, Tariq will walk through the expanding investor motivations surrounding sustainable investing, and share the recent trends and themes that BlackRock have observed as key drivers in the field of ESG. He will also focus specifically on climate change and its associated financial risks and opportunities—with detail on how investor values in sustainable investing are progressing. Growth and improvements in ESG data, the increasing importance of non-financial data, and societal behavior & influence, are three key trends where Tariq & team are looking to better equip investors to implement their ESG views in a meaningful way. Moving from theory to practice for sustainability investors can be a difficult step—Tariq will also share examples of how investors, on a global basis, have found replicable solutions to implement.
