Overview

CFA Society Pakistan has launched the first ever 'Mentorship Program' for its members in Pakistan. It is a volunteer-led program which supports members in developing skills to grow and advance their careers. Through this program, CFA Society Pakistan will assign suitable Finance and Investment Professionals as mentors to support, nurture, and guide Mentees to assist them in achieving their career goals. The Mentees are also members of CFA Society Pakistan.

The CFA Society Pakistan Mentorship Program will run for a period of six months from September 2022 to February 2023. Through this program, we aim to provide an opportunity to the young members of CFA Society Pakistan to interact with senior members and benefit from their knowledge and experience.

How it works?

During this program, the Mentees and Mentors will get a chance to engage in online networking sessions, and participate in career development events and workshops to enhance their interpersonal and leadership skills.

As part of the program, both parties would meet voluntarily for minimum 30 minutes every month over a period of six months to discuss the potential career development pathways. Mentors and Mentees can spend more time if agreed between the parties.

The closing event of the program is planned to be held in March 2023, where Mentors and Mentees will be invited to celebrate, network, and share their experiences from the program.

Mentor Requirements:

- Member of CFA Society Pakistan
- CFA Charterholder with more than 12 years of work experience
- Work experience in the Investment Management, Banking or Financial Services sector
- Have a passion for supporting and developing future leaders
- Have motivation to give back to the younger members of the society
- Able to commit to one-to-one mentoring during monthly meetings
- Some previous experience as a Mentor would be preferred but is not essential

Become a Mentee

Why become a Mentee?

- Opportunity to actively engage and learn from seasoned industry professionals

Mentee Requirements:

- Member of CFA Society Pakistan (Regular/Associate member)
- With 3 years' full-time work experience in the Investment Management, Banking or Financial Services sector
- Have keen interest in Personal and Professional Development
- Eager to learn and willing to be challenged
- Willing to commit to one-on-one mentoring to gain valuable experience from their Mentor
- Prepared to establish goals, schedule monthly meetings, and set the agenda for those meetings
- Receptive to feedback and ready to assume responsibility for own growth

How to become a Mentee?

Timeline

- Application deadline – Mentor: 17 August 2022
- Application deadline – Mentee: 25 August 2022
- Workshop for Mentors: 15 September 2022
- Orientation Session: 20 September 2022
- Mentoring Sessions: September 2022 to February 2023
- Workshop for Mentees will be conducted anytime from September 2022 through February 2023
- Closing Ceremony: March 2023
