|On September 26th, the CFA Society of San Diego was proud to host its first Diversity and Inclusion Symposium featuring speakers from 100 Women in Finance, Blackrock, Loop Capital, Brandes Global, and 12 other esteemed firms in the asset management space. |
With over 130 attendees present, panelists covered various aspects of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) including how it can generate organizational alpha, portfolio returns, and how to initiate an awareness of D&I within a company. Speakers covered a wide range of thoughtful topics and action items meant to inspire an industry narrative towards an inclusive, meaningful, and competitive space for all. The ideas included creating intentionally diverse groups, employing creative training techniques, storytelling experiences, performing a gender pay gap analysis, maintaining diverse interview panels, conducting “stay interviews” with employees, and fostering an environment for open and authentic dialogue.
