View Presentation: Keynote: Curt Anastasio, Former President and CEO NuStar Energy

Anastasio was president and CEO of NuStar Energy LP and NuStar GP Holdings LLC until his retirement at the end of 2013. With operations in nine countries, NuStar is one of the largest asphalt refiners and marketers in the United States and the second largest independent liquids terminal operator in the nation. He has been president of NuStar Energy and its predecessor, Valero LP, since December 1999. Previously, Anastasio held various positions with Ultramar Limited Inc. and Ultramar Diamond Shamrock. Anastasio serves on several boards, including the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships, San Antonio Medical Foundation and Southwest Research Institute. He also serves as a Director of Federal Reserve Bank Of Dallas and as Vice Chairman of United Way Of San Antonio & Bexar County. Anastasio holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a JD from Harvard Law School.

View Presentation: Stephen Trauber, Vice Chairman and Global Head of Energy, Citi - Corporate & Investment Banking

Steve Trauber joined Citi in 2010 as a Vice Chairman and Global Head of Energy. Mr. Trauber previously worked at UBS Investment Bank from 2003–2010 as a Vice Chairman and Global Head of Energy. Mr. Trauber began his career with Credit Suisse First Boston (1988–1995) and subsequently managed Morgan Stanley's Energy Group in Houston (1995–2003).

Mr. Trauber has served as financial advisor on over $300 billion of energy transactions, which include many of the most significant M&A and financing transactions in the oilfield service, exploration and production and refining and marketing sectors. Mr. Trauber received his BA in Economics and Managerial Studies from Rice University in 1984. He was an Austin Scholar and earned his MBA from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in 1988.

Ron Florance is a private investment consultant and financial educator with over 30 years of experience in the investment field. His most recent position was Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Private Bank, where he was responsible for developing key investment strategy guidance for high-net-worth individuals, families and philanthropic entities.​

His prior corporate experience included roles at The Vanguard Group, Wells Fargo Nikko Investment Advisors, and The Private Bank at Bank of America. Ron's expertise includes Global Asset Allocation, Equity Research, Fixed Income Research and portfolio design and management. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University and was awarded a Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1995.

Ron is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is quoted nationally and internationally both in print and broadcast media. Ron meets with individuals, foundations, and endowments to evaluate investment needs and strategies.

Marko Papic joined BCA Research in 2011 and is Chief Strategist of the Geopolitical Strategy service. Prior to joining BCA he was a Senior Analyst for STRATFOR, a premier global intelligence agency, where he shaped the firm's global geopolitical strategy. He is a sought-after geopolitical strategist, having been interviewed by numerous media organizations, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, BBC, CNBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters, Associated Press, and others. Before joining BCA, he helped create the Center for European Union Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Marko holds graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of British Columbia, and he has lived in eight countries on three continents.

 


Mark Easterbrook, CFA, Principal & Portfolio Manager, BP Capital

Mark joined BP Capital Fund Advisors in April 2014, where he serves as a member of the Investment Committee and co-manages the BP Capital TwinLine™ MLP Fund and the BP Capital TwinLine™ Energy Fund. Prior to joining the Advisor, Mr. Easterbrook served as Director of Research and Senior Vice President at Westwood Holdings Group (NYSE: WHG, where he was a Portfolio Manager of the MLP Infrastructure Renewal Fund. He also served as Managing Director with Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets, where he was responsible for the research coverage of the MLP sector. While there he was awarded in the Wall Street Journal's All-Star Analyst Survey for stock selection three times (1998, 2000, 2004). Mr. Easterbrook started his career on Wall Street as a research associate with Dillon, Read & Co. (now UBS) He earned a B.A. in economics and history from Emory University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Mr. Easterbrook was previously on the board of directors for the National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships (NAPTP).​

John Rutherford, Executive Vice President, Plains​ All American Pipeline

Mr. John R. Rutherford has been an Executive Vice President of PAA GP Holdings LLC, the General Partner of Plains GP Holdings, L.P. and Plains All American GP LLC since July 2013. Mr. Rutherford has been an Executive Vice President of Lease Supply at PAA GP LLC, the General Partner of Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. since October 5, 2010 and served as its Executive Vice President since Oct 2010.

Mr. Rutherford served as the Head of North American Energy Investment Banking and Managing Director of Lazard Ltd. (formerly Lazard, Freres & Co). Mr. Rutherford served as the Managing Director of Simmons & Company International. He has 25 years of energy and investment banking experience. Prior to joining Simmons & Company, he served as the Senior Vice President of Lehman Brothers Inc. in its Natural Resources Group. Mr. Rutherford served as a senior member of Lazard's energy effort. He also worked with George Bilicic, and with Lazard investment bankers in North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Mr. Rutherford joined Lazard after ten years at Simmons, where he played a leadership role in building its financial advisory businesses in the mid-stream, downstream, and exploration and production sectors. He also expanded Simmons' efforts in public oil-field services industry transactions.​

Prior to Simmons, Mr. Rutherford served as a Senior M&. Mr. Rutherford opened the Houston office for Wasserstein Perella & Co. and was a banker at First Boston. He also spent two years as Chief Financial Officer and Partner of Sandefer Offshore. He qualified as a Certified Public Accountant while working at Arthur Andersen & Co. and received a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Wharton Graduate School of Business. Mr. Rutherford graduated from the University of Texas where he was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

DAVID CHIARO

David Chiaro, Partner & Portfolio Manager. Eagle Global Advisors

​David currently directs the research effort for the Master Limited Partnership Strategy and is Co-Chairman of the MLP investment committee and portfolio manager. Prior to joining Eagle in July 2009, David was employed by Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 10 years, the last 5 years as the lead Pipeline and MLP analyst. He was recognized in the Spring of 2009 by the Wall Street Journal as "Best on the Street", the top ranked analyst in his sector for 2008. David has also covered Oil Service and Offshore Drilling companies in his 15 years as a sell-side analyst at various Wall Street firms.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

Eugenio J. Aleman

View Presentation: Eugenio J. Alemán, Ph.D., Director & Senior Economist, Wells Fargo Securities

Eugenio J. Alemán is a director and senior economist at Wells Fargo. He forecasts national, regional, and international economic trends. His primary focus is the United States, including interest rates and the economies of Texas and Arizona. Eugenio is also an expert on the economies of Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. Within that area, his specialties include the economies of border towns that trade with Mexico and the Maquiladora manufacturing sector along the U.S.-Mexican border. He is based in Charlotte, N.C.

Eugenio joined Wells Fargo in his current position in 2005. Before coming to Wells Fargo, Eugenio was the general manager of a restaurant in Puerto Rico from 1985 until 1990. From 1995 until 1996 he was a professor of economics and director of the M.B.A. program at the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico and from 1996 until 1998 he worked for the petroleum industry in Argentina. He has been an adjunct professor of economics at Drexel University in Philadelphia since 1999 and now only teaches online economics courses for the university. From 1998 until 2005, he worked at Global Insight, one of the most important economic forecasting and consulting firms in the U.S. as managing director for its Latin America Service.

Eugenio earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the Universidad Del Salvador in Buenos Aires, Argentina, an M.B.A. with a concentration in marketing from the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico, and an M.A. and a doctorate in economics with an emphasis in economic development and international trade and finance from Florida International University.Eugenio's commentaries have appeared in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post, and USA Today, as well as many national and in​ternational media outlets including Associated Press, Reuters, and Bloomberg News. He has also made appearances on CNBC and in U.S. Hispanic media outlets.

​View Presentation: Vincent Kaminski, Professor in the Practice of Energy Management, Rice University

Mr. Vincent Kaminski has spent 14 years working in different positions related to quantitative analysis and risk management in the merchant energy industry. The companies he ​worked for include Citigroup, Sempra Energy Trading, Reliant Energy, Citadel Investment Group, and Enron (from 1992 to 2002) where he was the head of the quantitative modeling group. Prior to starting a career in the energy industry, Mr. Kaminski was a Vice-President in the Research Department, Bond Portfolio Analysis Group, of Salomon Brothers in New York (from 1986 to 1992).

Mr. Kaminski is a Professor in the Practice of Energy Management at Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. He teaches MBA level classes on energy markets, energy risk management and valuation of energy, as well as classes in the executive education program.

​Mr. Kaminski holds an M.S. degree in international economics, a Ph.D. degree in theoretical economics from the Main School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw, Poland, and an MBA from Fordham University in New York. He is a recipient of the 1999 James H. McGraw award for Energy Risk Management (Energy Risk Manager of the Year). Mr. Kaminski published a number of papers, and contributed to several books, on energy markets. His recent publications in the risk management and commodity options pricing areas include: Managing Energy Price Risk, Risk Books, London 1999, all three subsequent editions, editor and coauthor; The Challenge of Pricing and Risk Managing Electricity Derivatives, in: The US Power Market, Risk Publications, London 1997, author; Energy Derivatives: Pricing and Risk Management, Lacima Publications, London 2000, contributor; and Energy Modeling. Advances in the Management of Uncertainty, London 2005, editor and coauthor.
