A new brochure, targeted at the high school level, which promotes the benefits of a career in finance, including profiles of several local, prominent female charterholders.

This brochure was used extensively at the Rotary Career Fair to help the students understand what a career in finance is all about and how to enter the field.

The Board appreciates all of the feedback that was received. The information gathered will be used in our upcoming strategic planning session with CFA Institute which will guide our Society over the next few years.
The winner of the draw for participating in the survey is Gang Wang, CFA, who will receive a $200.00 Best Buy gift card.

If you have any questions on the survey results, please contact us.

 Public Awareness Outreach

This year, and as part of our ongoing public awareness initiative, CFA Society Winnipeg, was represented at the Human Resource & Leadership Conference at RBC Convention Centre on October 25th and 26th.

One of our strategic goals over the recent years has been to expand the brand awareness of the CFA Charter and Program to the employer community in Manitoba. Our booth at the conference will aim to achieve just that - connect directly with the local HR community to highlight our skills and hopefully broaden the range of opportunities available to CFA Charterholders right here at home.

Many HR professionals stopped by to chat and those interested received our brochures, as an added incentive, we offered 1 free job posting to our jobboard if they contacted us indicating they met us at the HRMAM.

Thank you to our volunteers, Simon, Craig, Joe & Shaila.

National CFA Member Compensation Survey 2015

Compensation survey shows Chartered Financial Analysts earn excellent compensation averaging $280,454 in Canada

"The study reveals that the CFA designation is an excellent investment of time and effort. Charterholders continue to be sought after in traditional financial fields such as asset/fund management, brokerage and investment banking. In addition, we see growth in representation in non-traditional fields such as energy, utilities and systems management. The designation's focus on analytical rigour and ethical practices is well regarded and those that earn the charter are well-placed for career advancement and compensation growth," said Aaron Brown, CFA, Director, Portfolio Management for Alberta Treasury Board & Finance and Presidents Council Representative for the Canadian region.
