Mission & Vision Statements

Mission:

The mission of the CFA Society Spokane is to exemplify excellence, education and integrity in
the investment management profession.

Vision:

An integral and widely recognized element of the Inland Northwest business community.
An organization comprised of serious investment professionals in Eastern Washington,
North Idaho, parts of Wyoming, and Montana.
A society whose members are actively committed to enhancing the value of the
organization by willingly giving of their time as society volunteers, while openly sharing
of their knowledge and expertise with one another.


Strategic Plan Summary

1. Growth
a. Continue to expand into greater Inland NW in terms of membership and member
value initiatives
b. Targeted membership at 100
2. Integration
a. Continue rebranding process to CFA Inland Northwest
b. Broaden leadership and board for more geographic diversity to broaden reach and
potential member value
c. Increase Board size
i. More committee heads and formalization of the processes
d. Send minimum 3 board members to CFA Western Region training annually
i. Strive to bring (1) other highly active volunteer as a way to recruit to the
board
3. Technology
a. Continue to provide tech resources to members given the broad the geography
b. Live stream/record at least 4 events annually
i. Record and upload major events with speakers for members to watch
playbacks
4. University
a. Continue to target better University involvement
i. CFA Research Challenge
ii. Networking and Outreach
iii. Mentorship for future candidates/members
iv. Co-sponsor 1 finance club event at current CFA IRC schools

i. Continue to bring outside professionals into CFA network

1. Board members bring one outside industry professional to every
CFA event
2. Target circles of influence (accountants, lawyers, etc) for potential
sponsors or guests to annual dinners and/or professional
networking events

a. Continue to try and have one meaningful meeting with key political figure
annually to raise awareness of the CFA Institute, CFA Local Societies, and the
CFA exam programs
