Keynote Speaker

Michael McKee

International Economics and Policy Correspondent for Bloomberg TV and Radio

Michael McKee is the International Economics and Policy Correspondent for Bloomberg TV and Radio, covering market and political developments, economic trends and central banks in the United States and around the globe.

He was formerly co-host of Bloomberg Radio's daily "Surveillance" program, and the weekly political program "Bloomberg View."  

McKee covered Congress, the White House, the Federal Reserve and the Treasury Department for Bloomberg News, and has written for Bloomberg Markets, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Bloomberg.com. He's been a regular at many international economic gatherings, including meetings of the G-7, the World Bank and IMF, APEC, and the World Economic Forum in Davos. 

Prior to joining Bloomberg in January 1995, McKee covered politics for 20 years for a variety of news organizations, including Newsweek. He covered Capitol Hill and spent 10 years at the White House reporting on presidents Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Clinton.

Drew McKnight

Co-Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner, Fortress Investment Group

Mr. McKnight is Co-Chief Executive Officer and a Managing Partner based in Dallas. He serves on the Leadership Committee, is a member of several investment committees and is the head of the firm's Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Prior to joining Fortress in February 2005, Mr. McKnight worked at Fir Tree Partners where he was responsible for analyzing and trading high yield and convertible bonds, bank debt, derivatives and equities for the value-based hedge fund. Prior to Fir Tree, Mr. McKnight worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Leveraged Finance and the Distressed Bank Debt trading group. Mr. McKnight serves on the Board of Advisors for the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, the Center for New American Security, SMU’s Cox School of Business Alternative Asset Management Center and the UT Southwestern Medical Center President’s Advisory Board. In addition, Mr. McKnight is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. McKnight received a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia.

Hrishi Balaji, CFA

Portfolio Manager on the Brookfield Infrastructure Income Strategy

Hrishikesh Balaji is a Director in Brookfield’s Infrastructure Group and is responsible for portfolio management initiatives for the Brookfield Infrastructure Income fund including asset allocation and portfolio construction, with a particular focus on equity acquisitions. Prior to this role, Mr. Balaji was responsible for investor relations, capital raising, co-investments, and other strategic initiatives for Brookfield’s private infrastructure funds. Prior to Brookfield, Mr. Balaji worked in the assurance practice at Ernst & Young LLP. Mr. Balaji holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University, is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a CFA Charterholder.

Todd Gleason

Chief Executive Officer, CECO Environmental

Todd Gleason is Chief Executive Officer and a board member of CECO Environmental, a global leader in air quality and fluid handling. In this role, Todd drives the strategic vision of the company and aligns the organization for optimal value creation.

Gleason joined CECO in July 2020, from Scientific Analytics a private equity-backed, predicative analytics technologies and services company, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board since 2015.

Prior to joining Scientific Analytics, Gleason served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Officer at Pentair (NYSE-PNR), a global water treatment company. While at

Pentair, Gleason was a board member of Faradyne Motors – a joint venture between Pentair and Xylem. Gleason held a number of senior leadership positions earlier in his career at leading diversified industrial companies including Trane Technologies and Honeywell International.

Gleason holds a master’s degree in management in public policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Gleason has his Six Sigma Black Belt and has completed numerous process improvement programs in LEAN Enterprise.

Beth Garvey

Chair, President, and CEO of BGSF

Beth Garvey, Chair, President, and CEO of BGSF, leads with over 27 years of staffing industry expertise. Recognized globally by Staffing Industry Analysts and locally by Dallas Business Journal and D CEO, she champions innovation and workforce development. Beth has driven BGSF’s growth through strategic acquisitions and technology advancements.

Josh Nicholson, PHD

Chief Strategy Officer at Research Solutions

Josh Nicholson joined Research Solutions in December 2023. Prior to joining Research Solutions, Josh was the co-founder and CEO of Scite, a next-generation citation index that puts citations into context, growing the business from an idea published in a research paper to an award-winning profitable startup with global customers. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of the Winnower, an innovative publishing platform for researchers, which merged with Authorea, a collaborative document editor for researchers, where he served as Chief Research Officer and then CEO before it was acquired by Wiley. He holds a PhD in cell biology from Virginia Tech, where his research focused on the effects of aneuploidy on chromosome segregation in cancer.
