We offer two types of membership—regular and affiliate—to reflect the range of experiences investment professionals have. The membership year spans from 1 July to 30 June.
Regular Membership
Regular Membership is for investment professionals directly involved in or supporting the investment decision-making process. Regular membership is a prerequisite to earning the CFA charter and CIPM certificate.
When you apply to become a regular member of CFA Institute, you are required to apply to a local society. The information in your application will be reviewed by the local society you select. You can elect whether you want to join the society after your application is approved. Though voluntary for regular membership to CFA Institute, membership to your local society is your passport to a network of investment professionals in your market.
Regular members can add and switch societies without going through the society application process. This can be done during the renewal process and from the Manage Your Membership page.
Eligibility for Regular Membership
A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience and a passing score for the Level I CFA Exam, CIPM Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands Exam, or the self-administered Standards of Practice Exam are required to become eligible for regular membership to CFA Institute.

Affiliate membership
Affiliate membership is for investment professionals who do not meet the eligibility requirements of regular memberships or do not intend to participate in the CFA Program or CIPM Program, but still want to enjoy access to the latest research, continued professional learning content, member directory, and exclusive networking and volunteer opportunities.
When you apply to become an affiliate member of CFA Institute, membership to a local society is required.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required to become a member of CFA Society Nevada.

USD299 for CFA Institute and USD100 for CFA Society Nevada
Annual dues will be pro-rated for those joining CFA Institute and CFA Society Nevada for the first time.
