Women in Investment Management (CWIM)

CFA Society Serbia proudly participates in the Collaborative Women in Investment Management (CWIM) Initiative — a growing alliance of over 80 CFA societies, FPA chapters, and industry organizations spanning the US, Canada, EMEA, and LatAm. This initiative reflects our community's dedication to inclusion and diversity in finance, with a focus on advancing and celebrating female professionals at every stage of their careers. Through CWIM, members gain access to world-class programming, professional development resources, and networking opportunities that transcend geographic boundaries.

What We Stand For

CWIM is a grassroots movement built around four core commitments:

  • Empowering women across all segments of the investment and finance profession
  • Advancing female leadership while recognizing the achievements of trailblazers in the field
  • Building community by sharing resources and uniting members around a common vision of inclusion
  • Driving demand for meaningful diversity across the industry

With a combined membership exceeding 60,000 professionals globally, the CWIM partnership opens doors to peer support networks, cross-border collaboration, and career-defining connections. Virtual programming has further expanded our reach, helping build a truly international community of finance professionals.

The initiative launched its first event on 29 September 2020, hosted virtually by CFA Society Chicago Women's Network — the beginning of an ongoing series celebrating female leaders and inspiring the next generation of investment professionals.

Why Diversity in Finance Matters

Teams composed of people with varied backgrounds and perspectives consistently outperform homogeneous groups when it comes to complex problem-solving. The investment industry has increasingly recognized that gender diversity is not just an ethical priority — it is a business imperative. Understanding how to build inclusive cultures, support flexible work structures, and motivate a diverse workforce are essential competencies for firms seeking long-term resilience and performance.
