May 9, 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM (EET)
The conference aims to address key topics such as:
Central European growth potential in a world economy marked by geopolitical challenges, energy transition imperatives, the focus on energy security and cyber security, and the long-term convergence trend to economic levels and living standards of Western European countries.
Challenges and opportunities of different asset classes and the development potential of the public local capital markets through listings of equity and bonds, increased liquidity and better governance standards.
Explore opportunities and challenges of the private markets, including private equity, infrastructure and other alternatives. Global investors, international financial institutions, local/regional investors and regulators from Romania, the CEE and the EU level will be invited to share perspectives.
Preparing for the economic reconstruction of Ukraine: this has the potential to become one of the dominant themes for the Region, with a significant impact across vast areas of the economy, including industrial sectors, transport, energy and services.
The 10th edition of the CFA Central and Eastern Europe Investment Conference is focused on the evolution and development of capital markets during the past 10 years and future prospects.
Conference Theme
Capital Markets in Central and Eastern Europe: A New Decade of Outperformance?
CEE countries, most of them EU and OECD members, are on a relatively steady economic and social convergence trend with the Western EU members. This is reflected to various degrees in
macroeconomic indicators: faster growth of GDP, household income, spending and saving,
and capital markets: quantitative but also qualitative progress, including significant pension fund systems? (reforms), new emerging asset classes, internationally relevant IPOs, and regulatory changes.
The Region’s performance in the past decade, one marked globally by the Covid crisis and by a war in proximity, can provide an interesting indication of future prospects.
Particular attention will be given to the situation in Ukraine, a country part of the CEE Region, although currently facing a radically different situation to the rest of the countries.
