A look at investment directions and implementation through the prism of local portfolios

    Jun 30, 07:00 PM - 09:30 PM (BE)

A look at investment directions and implementation through the prism of local portfolios with Blackrock

As we enter the second half of 2025, asset allocators are increasingly split: while some maintain current exposures, others are rotating toward risk assets or defensive positions like cash and short-duration Treasuries. Notably, local and regional multi-asset portfolios have begun to diversify away from U.S.-centric allocations, favoring opportunities in Europe and APAC amid shifting capital flows and trade tensions. The BlackRock Investment Institute emphasizes a strategy of “be deliberate, defend, and diversify”—staying invested in equities but with a sharper focus on granular, alpha-seeking opportunities, while also exploring alternative diversifiers such as gold and private credit.

    Speakers:

Nicole Chong, BlackRock EMEA Investment Strategy – Conducts multi-asset research to deliver investment trade ideas and market insights across index and alpha strategies to wealth and institutional clients. Within the team, her focus is on global macro.

Elissa Weinfeld, BlackRock EMEA Portfolio Analysis & Solutions – Conducts customized, outcome-oriented client portfolio analysis with a focus on portfolio construction and risk management to assist with asset allocation, portfolio structure, and implementation decisions. This is executed across multiple asset classes and includes active and index products.

    Impossible negotiations with Chris Lemke

    Aug 28, 04:00 PM - 08:30 PM (BE)
    The concept

Life is a series of negotiations. Often it seems impossible to reach an agreement. This session summarizes advice from some of the leading experts and invites you to try out and expand your negotiation skills at the same time.

    How it works:
The first thing we do is put our brains together and collect everything we as a group know about successful negotiations. Then we challenge those rules and principles by testing their limits. In pair work and group scenarios participants gain practical experience and increase awareness regarding what works – and what does not.

    What’s different

We constantly switch between theory and practice, so you can experiment with different concepts and learn from experience. You experience negotiation situations as complex person-to-person interactions and are sure to walk away eager to apply your skills in real life.

Business simulation competition with Chris Lemke

    Sep 23, 04:00 PM - 08:30 PM (BE)

    The concept

Participating in a realistic business simulation, in direct competition with other teams in the same room, is one of the most exciting and insightful ways to learn about business and management. The simulation runs over several rounds, requiring tough decisions and providing immediate feedback at each stage.

    How it works

The simulation throws you in at the deep end, providing a complex situation and requiring decisions under uncertainty. Each of you has a particular role in the management team, and together you will succeed or fail, based on a set of clearly defined metrics. A rigorous debriefing ensures that we capture the learnings.

    What’s different

We play a world-class simulation that is run at leading business schools, and take time to debrief what happens in each round. Like in a flight simulator, you get to try out your skills and instincts, and nobody gets hurt. The experience is fun and engaging, but the insights are real.
