What are the benefits of Membership of CFA Institute and CFA Belgium?

Who can become a Member of CFA Belgium?

Anyone who is Regular or Affiliate member of the CFA institute can join.

What are the Membership fees?

For the CFA Institute $299 per year (retired $100) and CFA Belgium $50 per year (retired $0)

Can I join CFA Belgium without CFA Institute membership?

Currently we do not offer this option as our activities are supported by both the Belgian and Institute fees.

Can you continue to use the CFA designation if you are not Member of the CFA Institute?

No, you may no longer use the designation.

Can my employer pay for the Membership fees?

Yes, in fact we find that many Belgian employers cover the fees. Should this not be the case, we may be able to raise this with them. Contact us at [email protected].

Are local candidates for the CFA Level I, II and III exams automatically Members of CFA Belgium?

No, they are not. Candidates are not required to become Members of the CFA Institute and CFA Belgium, although they have the option to become Affiliate member.

Are only members of CFA Belgium allowed to participate in networking events, trainings and other activities?

Events are not accessible for the general public, although CFA Belgium does, on occasions, open-up events to candidates for Levels I, II or III. The CFA Belgium may also provide information to Members on free or reduced cost external events.

Can CFA Belgium members join events organised by other local Societies?

Yes. CFA Society Belgium is a member of the CFA Society Global Passport Program, which allows members of participating CFA societies to attend other's society events at the local member price. When you travel, contact the local society using the Society Directory to learn about eligible events and other networking opportunities.

Who can volunteer for CFA Belgium?

We welcome volunteers who are either Members or candidates for Levels I, II and III.

About the CFA Society Belgium 

Our Society was founded in 2006 and has more than 380 members. CFA Society Belgium is a professional organisation with the objective of furthering the public perception and standing of the investment profession as well as providing services and support for its members in Belgium. We organise regular events in Brussels and other locations.
