Your CV is the passport to your professional future. The right one will bypass the technology and the initial 5-second human scan to earmark you for your target role. Isn’t that what a great CV is all about? Writing your own CV doesn’t come naturally. Everyone benefits from fresh eyes, perspective and industry insight. Your CV must articulate your distinctive skills and attributes in a way that shows the value you bring to your future employer. BCA Brussels Geopolitical Dinner Event

    Apr 22, 06:00 PM - 07:30 PM (BE)
    Chief Strategist: Matt Gertken

BCA Research are hosting a Geopolitical Dinner with Chief Strategist, Matt Gertken. With Geopolitics being more relevant now than ever, this is a timely opportunity to hear BCA’s latest views and how we expect the situation to develop.

    Topics Of Discussion:
    • Wars in Iran and Ukraine occurred despite rapid technological change and the rise of artificial intelligence. How are global economies and financial markets evolving in response to disruption?
    • Trade wars and real wars provide case studies in market-relevant geopolitical forecasting. What can we learn from recent experience — and from the macro and market impacts?
    • The wars also reflect structural changes in the global political system. Is there likely a balance of power going forward — or a greater imbalance? Are there clear investment implications?
    • Global investors must increasingly turn toward China’s politics, economy, and foreign policy. What scenarios are likely at home and abroad, and what probabilities should we assign to each?
    • The United States will continue to play an active and disruptive role in global affairs. Will political and fiscal imbalances create a crisis for US asset-holders?

Matt is the Chief Strategist for both our Geopolitical Strategy and US Political Strategy services, where he oversees our coverage of market- relevant policy developments in the US and worldwide. Providing data-driven, non-partisan, macroeconomic, and policy research, he and his teams take a geopolitical approach to making discretionary trade recommendations for investors. He is also a member of the BCA Research Leadership Team.

Before joining BCA in 2015, Matt served as a Senior Analyst at Strategic Forecasting, Inc. (Stratfor) and in multiple academic and publishing roles. Matt has 19 years of experience in the field and appears frequently in global news media. He’s often remarked that political strategy is about getting policy settings right, improving scenario analysis and probabilities, and capitalizing on risks and opportunities.

Matt holds an MPhil from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin.

Roundtable on dual-class shares and loyalty voting rights

    Jun 18, 02:00 PM - 06:30 PM (BE)

Join us for an engaging roundtable discussion on voting rights for shares, set within the broader ambition of strengthening European capital markets and supporting a true savings and investment union.

As Europe seeks to enhance its competitiveness and retain listed companies, evolving governance structures – such as voting rights policies – are increasingly part of the debate. This comes against a backdrop of a shrinking public equity universe, with the number of listed companies in the EU declining by almost 15% between 2010 and 2022 – a trend that continues today, with delistings still outpacing new listings.

This interactive session will bring together perspectives on how such mechanisms may influence market attractiveness, investor protection, and the long-term development of European equity markets.

    Further details to follow soon.
