To all CFA Society Belgium Members,
We are excited to announce that we are seeking one or two new volunteers to join our Board of Directors at the CFA Society Belgium, starting January 1st 2025. This is due to the end of terms for Dries Janssen, CFA (Vice-President) and Salma Haider, CFA (Membership Chair), who we thank for their contributions to our Society. Serving on our board is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the CFA community, make a meaningful impact in the Belgian Finance industry and build your network. We are looking for highly motivated individuals, who are passionate about our industry and possess the skills and experience necessary to help lead our Society.
Specifically, we are seeking candidates who:
- Are a CFA charterholder and member of our Society
- Represent the diversity of our Membership
- Have relevant work experience in the Finance industry
- Have strong leadership and communication skills
- Can demonstrate a commitment to our mission and values
This year we have a number of board opportunities open:
- Women In Finance: encourage the active participation of women in the financial industry and our Society. Support them in obtaining the CFA Charter. Seek to promote gender diversity by creating spaces for empowerment, learning, and networking, organise events that address relevant topics, and partner with organizations that share a commitment to advancing women in finance.
- Advocacy: actively engage local regulators and other industry stakeholders on policy, standards, or regulation issues. Work with the CFAI to promote Institute's research and/or policy advocacy positions on topics of strategic interest. With input from members and local thought leaders assist Institute new standards development and updates to existing standards.
- Company outreach: develop local Belgian employer relations as well as sponsorship arrangements, together with the President and the CFA Institute
- Vice-Presidency: support the Society President and manage our volunteers

The search is open to all eligible candidates. We are seeking to attract a diverse and talented group of individuals to help lead our society. Following the appliction deadline, our board Nomination Committee will review all applications and invite suitable candidates to an interview. We will seek approval for the new board members at our upcoming annual general meeting at the end of November.
