Jessica Hulsman, CFA - President
Jessica joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2018 and is a Senior Advisor in the Treasury group at Keyera. Prior to joining Keyera, Jessica was an Associate in Equity Research at Scotiabank and a Senior Accountant within the Assurance Practice at Ernst & Young (EY). While working at EY she earned her Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation. Jessica also Chairs the Finance Committee of Vertigo Theatre.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in finance (with distinction) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary and is a CFA charterholder.
Jeremy Gilman, CFA - Vice-President
Alex Qu, CFA - Treasurer
Alex joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2020 and is a partner at TENET Power, a company focusing on clean energy development. Prior to joining TENET Power, Alex served as Supervising Engineer at ENMAX and Vice President in Deals at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Alex's previous experience also includes senior roles with TC Energy, Capital Power, the Government of Alberta, and Harbin Power Engineering Company. He has over 20 years of experience with utility assets and is particularly apt at integrating engineering insights into financial and commercial strategies.
Alex holds a M.A. in Economics and Finance from the University of Alberta, a M.A. in Economics from the University of the Philippines, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. He is a CFA Charterholder, a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Jaclyn Perrot, CFA - Secretary
Jaclyn joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2021 and currently serves as a Director.
Jaclyn leads ATB Investment Management Inc.'s Institutional Portfolio Management and Research teams, providing strategic direction and working closely with both clients and external partners.
Since entering the workforce in 2002, Jaclyn has worked in various roles with large financial institutions. Her career in investment management began in 2006 when she left banking to join the Nova Scotia Pension Corporation. Her most recent role, prior to joining ATB Investment Management Inc. in 2018, was as Treasurer and Director of Investments at the University of Calgary where she was responsible for overseeing the university's investments.
Jaclyn earned her CFA charter in 2011. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
Jaclyn has lived and worked in BC, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. After moving to Alberta in 2014, her family settled in NW Calgary. Staying active in the community is one of her priorities and since moving to Calgary, she has volunteered with the Calgary CFA society and the Calgary Portfolio Management Trust program at the University of Calgary. In 2017 she co-founded the Calgary chapter of Women in Capital Markets (WCM).
Bret Dunwoodie, CFA - Past President
Bret Dunwoodie joined the board of CFA Society Calgary in July of 2016 and holds the position of Director at Steady Creek Business Solutions.
Bret works with companies to develop their corporate strategy and financial plans. He has performed due diligence on acquisitions across a number of different industries and has taken a lead role in the acquisition integration process. Bret has also led the development and implementation of business processes to enhance operations at a number of different corporations.
Bret holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alberta, an MBA in Finance from the University of Calgary and he is a CFA Charterholder.

Julian joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2021 and currently serves as a Director.
Julian is the CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Accelerate Financial Technologies Inc., a leader in alternative investment solutions.
Prior to founding Accelerate, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Ross Smith Asset Management. He started his career as an Analyst at BMO Capital Markets.
Julian is the Chairman of Bitcoin Well and a Director of the CFA Society Calgary.
Julian attended the University of Manitoba where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science (Engineering) and a Bachelors of Commerce (Finance), both with distinction. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
Julian has been featured in some of the world's top financial and business media including Bloomberg, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, BNN, Business Insider and The Globe and Mail. He is the author of the book Reminiscences of a Hedge Fund Operator and host of the Absolute Return Podcast.
Jenny Xenos, CFA
Jenny joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2022 and brings more than 17 years of experience in professional services, including investment banking and consulting, both domestically and internationally.
She spent over 13 years in institutional equity research in Canada, including at Canaccord Genuity, Macquarie Capital, Orion Securities, Raymond James and FirstEnergy Capital. Over her tenure as a research analyst, Jenny covered oil and gas producers of all sizes, both private and public, with a recent focus on international E&P companies. She published thousands of pages of research, organized dozens of marketing campaigns across the Americas and in Europe, facilitated over C$1bn of small and micro-cap energy company financings, and supported numerous M&A mandates and due diligence processes. She led a number of successful business development initiatives and built lasting relationships with buy-side, sell-side and corporate clients. Jenny also lived and worked in Europe, where she spent several years in management consulting for the industrial and energy sectors. She led and supported a variety of strategic, operational and functional projects in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and the Americas. Jenny currently serves as Managing Partner at Quester Advisors, an independent consulting company specializing in strategy, corporate development and capital markets advisory services.
Jenny holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance (with distinction) from the University of Calgary in Canada; an International MBA from the IESE Business School in Spain; and is a CFA Charterholder.
Lu Zheng, CFA
Lu joined the Board of CFA Society Calgary in 2022 and currently serves as a Director.
Lu is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and holds MBA degree from Brock University. She has over 10 years of treasury-related work experience in banking sector and is specialized in Asset and Liability Management, Funds Transfer Pricing, Profitability Reporting and Analysis as well as Cash and liquidity management.
Lu is a board director and past lead volunteer of the University Relations program with CFA Society of Calgary. Before moving to Calgary, Lu was a Director of CFA Society Saskatchewan.
