Professional Membership

Provides seasoned industry professionals affiliation with CFA Institute and access to exclusive member benefits for continued education and career development.

  • Member of CFA Institute and CFA Society Cleveland
  • 4000 hours of relevant work experience over 36 months
  • Pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent 
  • Pass Level 1 of the CFA exam, Level II CIPM® or pass the self-administered Standards of Practice Exam 

Affiliate Membership

Individuals who are not qualified for CFA charterholder or professional membership can align with CFA Institute and take advantage of member benefits.

  • Be accepted as an Affiliate Member of CFA Institute by meeting their requirements
  • Agree to adopt the CFA Institute Code and Standards
  • Must be sponsored by one Charterholder/Professional and the applicant's supervisor, one of which must be a member of the Society.  If the supervisor requirement cannot be met because the applicant is the principal of the firm, a student, retired, self-employed, or if providing a supervisor sponsor places the applicant in a difficult professional position, then an additional sponsorship by a Charterholder/Professional Member of CFA Institute is required.

Dues​

CFA Institute annual membership dues are $299 for Charterholder, Professional, and Affiliate. 
Society annual membership dues are $150 for Charterholder, Professional, and Affiliate members.

LOCAL MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
Local society members have access to the same benefits as regular members except for voting privileges. The Local Society Membership is solely a CFA Society Cleveland membership and does not include membership in the CFA Institute. The membership is intended for individuals who have no intention of pursuing the CFA Charter or are candidates in the CFA Program and are not yet interested in joining the CFA Institute. Local Membership is $150 yearly.
