Give us your best pitch!

Participate in the regional CFA Stock Pitch Challenge! This new event will provide opportunities to network, meet employers and win a cash prize. This is not a team-based event – participants will pitch on their own a stock of their choosing.

CFA societies in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Louisville will each select and send up to 5 participants to the finals, held on September 19, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio.

Submission Guidelines

Who is eligible?

Any student who will be an undergraduate in Fall 2025. This is a solo pitch event, not a team-based event.

Develop your pitch

Pick any publicly traded equity security – US or non-US – for a long investment.

Deeply research your stock! If you are a finalist, you will face Q&A.

Your goal is to persuade a busy portfolio manager to consider the stock for portfolio inclusion.

Record your pitch

Use any web-based app to record your pitch.

Your pitch must be a convincing 2 minutes or under. Pitches over 2 minutes will not be considered.

During your recording, you may show 2-5 pages of supplemental materials or graphics (e.g., via “share my screen”).

Your pitch must be delivered intact, i.e., you may not cut or edit the recording.

Submit your pitch – DUE APRIL 30

Send a link to your recorded pitch and a resume to [email protected].

Submissions must be received by April 30, 2025.

Up to five finalists from the Columbus area will be notified by May 30.

The Finals!

Finals will include up to 20 participants (5 students from each participating society’s region), and will take place September 19, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio.

All participants will have 2 minutes to pitch a stock live. They may provide 2-5 pages of supplemental material during the pitch — materials are not required. If used, participants must print out materials to give to judges – materials may not be provided ahead of time. Each pitch will be followed by 10 minutes of Q&A from the judges. Judging will be based on the pitch and Q&A, not the materials.

Five finalists will be selected to pitch live one last time. They will be given up to 3 minutes to pitch in front of an audience, with 10 minutes of Q&A. Winners will be announced shortly after the final round.

Further logistical details will be provided to finalists.
