Diversifying Private Credit Exposure - Overview of GP Financing
Private credit is now an established segment of most institutional investors' portfolios. As direct lending represents over half of the $1.7 trillion currently managed in private credit funds, there is now both a need and demand for diversifying strategies that will further solidify the role that the asset class plays in portfolios. GP Financing falls right into that category by offering the opportunity to gain credit exposure with diversified underlying collateral and attractive risk-adjusted returns that benefit from unique attributes, including high barriers to entry, robust counterparty alignment, strong credit protections and competitive absolute returns. Origination in the space remains largely proprietary, as opposed to programmatic, and the underwriting offers a generous complexity premium. At lunch, you’ll gain insights into how GP financing provides non-dilutive growth capital to augment fund commitments, develop new strategies, and manage transitions—all while preserving ownership and alignment with investors. Learn how these tailored financing solutions are structured, including debt sizing based on specific collateral and portfolio exits, customized repayment profiles, and innovative structuring.
