The CFA Society Japan is a gateway to the global financial community, run by volunteers. It was founded in 1999, as the Japan Society of Investment Professionals, affiliated to the CFA Institute, and has developed its activities in education, networking, advocacy of ethics and best practices, and cooperation with other industry associations and universities.
Our activities include;
- Promotion of the CFA Program, which is a globally recognized, graduate level curriculum that provides a strong foundation of real-world investment analysis and portfolio management skills.
- Offering continuous education to members and wider public. We provide members and sponsors with programs and events such as seminars and conferences.
- Connecting our members and sponsors. Through events and seminars, we offer opportunities to help our members connect with other investment professionals.
- Collaboration with other industry associations and universities. This has developed rapidly over the past several years, including Research Challenges for university students to educate future financial professionals.
In the light of recent drastic changes of global trend stemming out of pandemics, we will endeavour to stay ahead of curve by focusing on,
Digitization – to hold events on-line and share it with other societies and vice versa, which enables members to gain access to global activities carried out by more than 160 societies.
Globalization – build strategy to offer assistance to make the Japanese financial market become truly global.
Capitalization – Make use of wealth of intelligence and network that CFA Societies worldwide can offer.
We hope to offer members a variety of opportunities to make meaningful contribution with fulfilling experiences. I very much look forward to working together with as many members as possible to be a part of transition that the country is long overdue.
Masato Degawa CFA, President, CFA Society Japan
