今年は「Moving Forward to a GlobalAsset Management Power:資産運用立国の実現に向けて」がテーマです。

The Japan Investment Conference (the “JIC”) is the flagship event held by the CFA Society Japan (the “Society”), and each year, it features the hottest topics relevant to the asset management industry. The JIC is the Society’s largest conference in terms of both the number of attendees and the number of people involved in its operation. We are confident that we provide helpful information to attendees with various backgrounds, including those in the financial industry. This year, we will focus on what is required when Japan becomes a global asset management power.
Promoting Japan as an asset management power—it is no exaggeration to say that this is the buzzword of the year in Japan’s asset management industry these days.
With the expansion of the new NISA (small investment tax exemption program) and the easing of conditions for establishing investment management companies, Japan is steadily progressing toward becoming a global asset management power. One example is “Orukan,” the abbreviated word of All Country World, which has become a familiar word in the general public. When Japan seeks to be a global asset management power, the asset management industry as a whole must contribute not only to building assets of the citizens but also to improving the profitability of asset management companies. Based on this recognition, we need to focus on how to strengthen investment management capabilities and what solutions to provide to satisfy investors' needs, both of which have long been under discussion.
The Japan Investment Conference 2025 (JIC2025) invites domestic and foreign regulators, practitioners, and experts as speakers to discuss how to strengthen investment management capabilities and what solutions to provide to satisfy investors' needs when Japan aims to become an asset management power. During the panel session, the challenges, clues to solutions, and the impact of these issues on Japanese asset managers will also be featured. Specifically, the sessions are divided into three, focusing on each of the three major players in the asset management industry—asset managers, asset owners, and individual investors. In the first session, “Asset Managers,” we discuss how asset managers should broaden their business scope and expand their asset classes and strategies to strengthen their investment capabilities as well as the current problems, together with leading experts in asset management. In the second part, “Asset owners,” we focus on how solutions can be provided to satisfy investors’ needs, raising the issues surrounding asset management from the perspective of asset owners, including their impact and challenges to asset owners. In the third part, “Individual investors,” various issues associated with sales of financial instruments to individual investors and nurturing financial literacy among individual investors through financial education will be discussed, with examples from overseas and opinions from experts in various fields.
