"Macro Outlook 2025" with Garry Evans
On 15th of January, CFA Society Liechtenstein had the pleasure to host its yearly signature event, the Forecast Dinner. This is always a highly anticipated event for our community, and this year's edition did not disappoint. We had the privilege of hearing from Garry Evans, a distinguished expert from BCA Research, who shared his perspectives on the current state of the economy and financial markets. But the evening wasn’t just about Garry’s forecast for future. The participants made their own bets for the year ahead, and we also acknowledged those who made the most accurate predictions last year.
Garry delivered a comprehensive analysis of the global economy, discussing how he expects different economic components to evolve in 2025. He focused on factors like interest rates, inflation, the labor market, and the changing political leadership in the US. He also covered the most important global economies in more detail. As a conclusion, Garry provided his global asset allocation recommendations for the year ahead.
A big part of this event is the Forecasting Game, which offers participants a chance to predict where markets will be one year from now. As part of the evening's tradition, we took time to recognize those who made the most accurate forecasts in 2024.
