Overview
CFA Society Rochester was founded in 1955 as the Rochester Society of Security Analysts. That same year, RSSA joined the Financial Analysts Federation (FAF), which, in 1990, merged with the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts (ICFA) to form CFA Institute.
Today, CFA Society Rochester is a premier professional association for financial services professionals located in Central and Western New York. Society's ranks include approximately 190 members with occupations spanning investment advisory, securities research, consultancy, and corporate finance.
CFA Society Rochester is a member society of the CFA Institute, a global community of more than 120,000 investment professionals working to build an investment industry where investors' interests come first, markets function at their best, and economies grow.
Mission
CFA Society Rochester aims to:
- promote the highest ethical standards, best practices and professional development of current and future members, for the benefit of clients and the broader investing public
- deliver educational programming, strengthen member involvement
- promote the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation for the benefit of finance professionals in the Greater Rochester and Central NY area.
