Rethinking Credit Allocations: Building More Resilient Portfolios in Public Markets

    Sep 24, 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM (ET)
Correlations can shift across market regimes, and traditional fixed income diversification may prove less reliable amid heightened geopolitical uncertainty and volatility. As most allocators base their view on public credit exposures driven largely by spreads, they may be overlooking a broader and growing opportunity set beyond traditional bonds that are not “priced to perfection”.     Join the Artisan Credit and EMsights teams for a discussion on idiosyncratic strategies across primarily US public below–investment-grade credit and global debt seeking to deliver low correlation and compelling risk-adjusted returns relative to broad market indices and risks.   John Ebeling bio: John Ebeling is a director of Artisan Partners and a member of the firm’s Strategic Capital Formation Group. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in August 2025, he was a vice president of business development in US intermediary distribution with Gramercy Funds Management. Before that, Mr. Ebeling served as regional director of field sales and national accounts in US intermediary distribution with Ashmore Investment Management. Earlier in his career, he was an associate in structured products with UBS Financial Services. Mr. Ebeling holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Maine.   Mike Fontaine bio: Mike Fontaine is a director of Artisan Partners with responsibility for distribution and servicing of the strategies managed by the firm’s Credit team. He is also responsible for creation of the team’s investment content and communications. Prior to joining Artisan Partners, Mr. Fontaine was a principal with Third Street Partners.
