This 3-hour course will introduce finance professionals to the basics of Copilot, a generative AI-powered assistant, to enhance their productivity and decision-making in various Microsoft applications. Participants will learn about Copilot features and capabilities, and practice applying use cases with a focus on finance such as data analysis, research, document drafting, presentation creation, and email communication. The course will also cover best practices, tips, and limitations of using Copilot, including prompt engineering as well as some ethical and security considerations.
Strategies for eliciting the most relevant and accurate responses from Copilot
Understanding the limitations of Copilot and how to prevent misinformation by recognizing and mitigating hallucinations
Techniques for crafting initial and follow-up prompts to maximize output quality
Best practices for using Copilot in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, including streamlining daily operations with Copilot
Practical applications in finance, such as leveraging Copilot for in-depth research and due diligence of companies and industries, data analysis, drafting proposals and presentations, brainstorming innovative solutions, and performing daily administrative tasks
While this session is based in Copilot, the course approach is platform-agnostic by design. We understand that platform access, regional availability, and internal controls vary widely. The exercises are structured so they work across major LLMs, e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, internal firm tool.
