History
CFA Society Chile is an affiliate society of CFA Institute. CFA Society Chile currently has 198 members and is one of the newest societies of CFA Institute that currently has more than 190,000 members organized into 160.
The origins of our Society date back to 2000, when Alfonso Bulnes and Cristian Rodríguez became the first Chileans to earn the CFA designation. It took 10 years to add 25 new professionals to the ranks of charterholders in Chile and achieve critical mass in the country to begin to imagine that a local organization representing all CFA charterholders in Chile was possible.
Thus, in 2010, a group of local volunteers organized the first version of the Global Investment Research Challenge, GIRC in Chile (currently the CFA Institute Research Challenge). In 2012, the same group of volunteers organized the first event of this future Society: an ethics seminar/roundtable with CFA Institute representatives and prominent local speakers. That same year, the CFA Institute recognized this emerging volunteer organization as a CFA PRE Society, formally beginning the process to establish a local society.
In October 2015, after three years of intense work, and having increased the pre-society membership to 50 members (the minimum number required), CFA Society Chile was officially launched.
The event held to celebrate the inauguration of the new CFA Society was attended by two former Ministers of Finance of the Republic of Chile, Messrs. Andrés Velasco and Felipe Larraín and the then Vice Minister of Finance, Mr. Alejandro Micco.
In the years since its establishment, the Society has held a series of events and seminars with distinguished local and foreign speakers, this year the Society will hold the 13th edition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge, with many more activities still to come. do.

Historia
CFA Society Chile es una sociedad afiliada de CFA Institute. CFA Society Chile cuenta actualmente con 198 miembros y es una de las sociedades más nuevas de CFA Institute que actualmente cuenta con más de 190.000 miembros organizados en 160.
Los orígenes de nuestra Sociedad se remontan al año 2000, cuando Alfonso Bulnes y Cristian Rodríguez se convirtieron en los primeros chilenos en obtener la designación CFA. Fueron necesarios 10 años para sumar 25 nuevos profesionales a las filas de los charterholders en Chile y lograr una masa crítica en el país para comenzar a imaginar que era posible una organización local que representara a todos los CFA charterholders en Chile.
Fue así como en 2010, un grupo de voluntarios locales organizó la primera versión del Global Investment Research Challenge, GIRC en Chile (actualmente CFA Institute Research Challenge). En 2012, el mismo grupo de voluntarios organizó el primer evento de esta futura Sociedad: un seminario/mesa redonda sobre ética con representantes de CFA Institute y destacados oradores locales. Ese mismo año, CFA Institute reconoció a esta organización emergente de voluntarios como una PRE Sociedad CFA, iniciando formalmente el proceso para establecer una sociedad local.
En octubre de 2015, luego de tres años de intenso trabajo, y habiendo aumentado la membresía de la pre-sociedad a 50 miembros (el número mínimo requerido), se lanzó oficialmente CFA Society Chile.
El evento realizado para celebrar la inauguración de la nueva sociedad contó con la presencia de dos ex Ministros de Hacienda de la República de Chile, los señores Andrés Velasco y Felipe Larraín y el entonces Viceministro de Hacienda, señor Alejandro Micco.
En los años posteriores a su creación, la Sociedad ha llevado a cabo una serie de eventos y seminarios con distinguidos oradores locales y extranjeros, este año la Sociedad llevará a cabo la 13ª edición del CFA Institute Research Challenge, y aún quedan muchas más actividades por hacer.
