June 15th, 2023 CFA Society Mexico gave Alex Anderson, CFA Award 2023 to Timothy Heyman in recognition to his outstanding leadership and contributions to Finance Industry.
He could not attend the event but he recorded a message for the community, Hugo Petricioli, Chairman of Franklin Templeton Investment received the award on his behalf.
Timothy Heyman was President of Franklin Templeton Investments México between 2013 and 2020, nowadays he is dedicated to philanthropy and culture.
TIMOTHY HEYMAN BIOGRAPHY
Since 1997, he developed Heyman & Asociados as a lead administrator of institutional investments in Mexico; in 2013 it was merged with Franklin Templeton Investments, one of the largest administrator of investments listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Before it, Timothy Heyman was President at ING Baring Grupo Financiero and also of Baring, Casa de Bolsa (the first foreign brokerage house in México).
Timothy Heyman hold for three consecutive years the first place in Mexican economic, financial and stock market analysis by the magazine “Institutional Investor”. He was member of the Board of Directors of Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV) and its Listing and Index Committees; also he was President of Asociación Mexicana de Casas de Bolsa, and President of the Economic Studies Committee at Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas (IMEF).
He was Professor of Investments at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) between 1982 and 2016. He wrote 10 “best-seller” books related with Mexican investments, 2 relevant books were published by Amazon in English and Spanish language: Finanzas, Tiempo y Crecimiento & Finance Time and Growth.*
He was graduated with honors as BA Literae Humaniores at Balliol College, Oxford; he was Harkness Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) graduated with a MBA.
In 2013, Queen Elizabeth II named him Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to finance and philanthropy between the United Kingdom and Mexico.
In 2023, he was the second person honored with the Alex Anderson, CFA, Award from the CFA Society Mexico for the promotion of Ethics and great value contributions to the Mexican Financial Industry and Academy with the goal to elevate the standard of the profession.
