What Is It
The Ethics Challenge embodies the mission of CFA Society Mississippi by promoting our mission of advancing "the investment and financial communities through education, professionalism, and ethics in our region." In addition, it focuses on many of the elements of CFA Institute's Future of Finance initiative: Transparency and Fairness, Regulation and Enforcement and Safeguarding the System.
How It Works
Designed to help prepare those entering the investment profession for the ethical challenges that they will face in the workplace, student teams representing local universities are given an ethics case to study and evaluate. Each team will then present its analysis and recommendations to a panel of judges. Following a question and answer period with each team, the judges will then select a winner. Their decision will be based on the quality of the team's understanding of the ethical issues involved, and the quality of their analysis, presentation, and responses to the judges' questions.
The first-place team will receive $1,000 and the Ethics Challenge Champion Award. All the participating universities will receive feedback on their analysis and presentation.
How To Get Involved
The Ethics Challenge provides all participants – both individuals and organizations – with incredible opportunities to get involved.
- Students: Contact your university or professor to find out if your university is participating or to express your interest in getting your university registered.
- Universities: Contact us to find out how you can register for our next Challenge. Once registered, form your team of 3-5 participants and give students the opportunity to compete against their peers and gain real-world experience.
- Charterholders: Become a judge or corporate sponsor.
