CFA Society Mississippi hosts our Annual Forecast Dinner at the start of each year to bring together investors and investment professionals and foster an environment of camaraderie and education. Our Annual Forecast Dinner has become one of the premier financial forecast events in the country, regularly hosting over 400 attendees. Each year we bring together industry experts from the fields of fixed-income investments, equity investments, and/or economics to discuss the current economic environment and how they see markets progressing for the upcoming year.

Matthew McLennan, CFA

Co-Head Global Value Team, Portfolio Manager,

First Eagle

Matthew McLennan is co-head of the Global Value team and portfolio manager for several strategies, including Global Value, Global Equity, International Value, International Equity, and US Value. Before joining First Eagle in 2008, he co-founded and co-managed Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Global Equity Partners in London, overseeing a focused global equity portfolio for offshore private wealth clients. Previously, he served as equity chief investment officer for Goldman Sachs’ private client business and began his career at the Queensland Investment Corporation in Brisbane, managing international equity exposure. Born in Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, and raised in Queensland, Australia, he holds a bachelor of commerce with first-class honors and a master of international commercial law from the University of Queensland.

Shayan Hussain, CFA

Managing Director, Investment Specialist,

J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Shayan Hussain manages J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Global Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities team. Mr. Hussain previously spent 15 years at BlackRock, most recently as Head of Americas Fundamental Fixed Income Product Strategy, where he developed the taxable fixed income platform, providing a link between the investment teams and client groups. Mr. Hussain also worked in the firm's London office launching its global unconstrained fixed income product offering across EMEA, Asia and Latin America. Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Hussain also worked as a trader on the US interest rates swaps desk at J.P. Morgan. He started his career in corporate finance with AT&T working on strategic initiatives including public debt offerings, business unit spin-offs and asset sales. Mr. Hussain earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Business Administration and BA in Economics, cum laude, from Boston University.

Robert "Bob" Carey, CFA

Chief Market Strategist,

First Trust

Bob has over three decades of experience as an Equity and Fixed-Income Analyst and is Chief Market Strategist. Bob travels throughout the United States and Canada giving brokers and investors clear and concise analysis in understanding the markets, current trends and what he believes are opportunities today and beyond. As a guest on television and radio programs including Bloomberg TV, CNBC and Chicago’s WBBM Newsradio 780’s Noon Business Hour, Bob imparts his views to a large audience. He has also been quoted by several publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Reporter, Bloomberg News Service and Registered Rep. He is a recipient of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is also a member of the CFA Society of Chicago and the CFA Institute. Bob is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana with a BS in Physics.

David A. Caffrey is vice president and client advisor at J.P. Morgan Asset Management where he serves registered investment advisors and bank and trust clients across the Southeast region of the United States. In his role, Dave is dedicated to empowering advisors by equipping them with intellectual capital to enhance their client interactions. He takes pride in helping advisors construct superior portfolios through J.P. Morgan Funds’ comprehensive approach to asset management. Additionally, Dave provides specialized training on market trends and ensures advisors have direct access to portfolio managers, specialists, and strategists. Dave has over two decades of experience in the financial services. He earned a J.D. from Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver and B.A. in political science from Boston College.
