Family-Friendly Member Baseball Outing

CFA Society Iowa members are invited to join us for a Cedar Rapids Kernels game at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, Aug. 27!   Registration includes an admission ticket, food and drinks. We'll have access to the Party Plaza when the gates open at 5:30 PM. The game starts at 6:35 PM. We'll have food and beverage service from 6-9 PM.   Feel free to bring a guest or your family! Children under the age of five do not need a ticket. If you need more than three tickets to accommodate your family, please contact us at [email protected].   A limited number of tickets are available, so register early! Last day to register is Thursday, Aug. 20.

In-Person/Online Luncheon: "Tax-Advantaged Equity Investments"

Join us for our in-person/virtual luncheon -- "Tax-Advantaged Equity Investments" -- on Wednesday, Sept. 2!   Tax equity investments represent a creative way to blend traditional infrastructure private equity with tax benefits while avoiding internal competition for capital allocation by matching investment volume to cash tax payments that otherwise go to the federal government. Come learn how these structures work, what a typical collaboration between tax and investment teams looks like, and ways to adjust the investment structure to meet your firm’s tax needs or investment criteria.   Our presenter will be Kevin Haley, Senior Vice President of Investments at Foss & Company.   This luncheon is open to members and non-members. Full-time students can attend for free -- just select the "full-time student" ticket and use your school email address when registering.   The in-person luncheon will be held at Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel. Doors open and a buffet lunch is served at 11:30 AM, and the presentation begins at 12:00 PM.   For the in-person luncheon, please register by Aug. 28.   A virtual option is also available. For those attending virtually, the Zoom presentation will begin at 12:00 PM.
