CFA Society Nebraska is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge to be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Having been the presenting sponsor since 2016, this event provides CFA Society Nebraska the opportunity to share with the students the mission of CFA Institute, the CFA Charter program and careers available in the investment field. At this year's event, held both in person and virtually, high school students across the state of Nebraska will have the opportunity to engage in this fun-filled, action-packed competition to experience the stock market first-hand while enhancing team-building and communication skills in a fast-paced environment. The students get a taste of real stock market action as they trade throughout a simulated day on the market floor to compete for prizes. Competition Details:
Students complete five in-class lessons prior to the competition to learn about the basics of the stock market and the importance of savings and investing. Then during the virtual competition, each team is issued $1,000,000 to invest in shares of fictitious companies. Throughout the 60-turn trading period, the simulation will follow news events as they impact the market, challenging students to work together and determine if they want to buy, sell, or trade.
