John Harvey, CFA, CIPM, CAIA
John is the Manager, Investments for the Nunavut Trust. In this role he focuses on research, manager selection, and portfolio monitoring/implementation. John is a CFA Charterholder, CAIA Chaterholder and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement. He graduated from Carleton University with a B.Com. in accounting and finance. In his spare time John enjoys backcountry snowboarding, hiking, canoeing, and cycling.

Daniel Kirshner, CFA
Daniel is an Associate in Export Development Canada’s Investments group. He works on multi-sector direct and fund investments in both the venture capital and mid-market private equity space. He has prior experience in corporate lending and consulting. Daniel is a CFA Charter holder and holds a B.Com. in Finance from the University of Ottawa. He was previously the Program Chair for the CFA Society Ottawa.

Maral Chukhalkhuu
Maral is an Investment Counsellor at RBC PH&N Investment Counsel, specializing in comprehensive discretionary investment management for high-net-worth clients, families and owner-managed businesses. A CFA charter holder and advocate for gender diversity in the investment management profession, Maral earned her Bachelor of International Business degree from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. Maral was previously the Women In Investment Management Chair for the CFA Society, and has been an active society member since 2017. She is fluent in English and Mongolian, and speaks some French and Japanese as she enjoys learning about new cultures and languages.

Kathryn Laflamme
Kathryn is a Risk Manager at Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) where she performs risk assessments on a portfolio of Canadian deposit-taking institutions. Prior to working at CDIC, Kathryn spent almost a decade working at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) where she gained progressive experience in insurance operations, risk management, policy analysis, and product development roles. Kathryn is a CFA Charterholder and was previously the Women in Investment Management Chair for the CFA Society Ottawa. Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law specializing in Business Law from Carleton University, as well as a Master of Finance and a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University. During her studies, Kathryn studied abroad in both Paris, France and Shanghai, China.

Ian Taylor, CFA
Ian is responsible for managing strategic and tactical asset allocation for more than $20 billion in MD portfolios, its Fund of Funds, and alternative investments. He also leads the research and analyses behind MD's investment views. He is a graduate of the University of Guelph with a commerce degree specializing in management economics in industry and finance. Ian is a CFA Charterholder and was previously the Education Chair for the CFA Society Ottawa.
