MEET THE SPEAKERS

	Speaker: Laurence Bensafi, CFA Deputy Head of RBC Emerging Markets Equity and Portfolio Manager, RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited CFA (2004); Magistère d’Économiste Statisticien & D.E.S.S. Statistique et Économétrie (1997), Université de Toulouse, France. Laurence is a portfolio manager and deputy head of the RBC Emerging Markets Equity team at RBC GAM. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, she headed the emerging markets team of a leading U.K. asset manager. In this role, Laurence was responsible for managing Asian and global emerging market income strategies, and developing quantitative stock selection and environmental analysis models. She began her investment career in 1998 as a quantitative analyst at a major financial services company, where she supported European and global equity portfolio management by developing quantitative models to assist in the portfolio construction and security selection process.
	Speaker: Polina Kurdyavko, CFA Managing Director, Head of BlueBay Emerging Markets, BlueBay Senior Portfolio Manager, RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited CFA; MSc (Hons) (Finance), People's Friendship University of Russia, Russia. Polina Kurdyavko is head of BlueBay Emerging Markets and a BlueBay senior portfolio manager on the BlueBay Fixed Income team at RBC Global Asset Management (UK) Limited. In addition to oversight of investments across all Emerging Markets (EM) strategies, Polina is also a lead portfolio manager for several flagship funds in EM sovereign, credit and local markets, including long only and alternative products. Prior to joining the organization in 2005, Polina had worked at an investment banking firm where she was a credit analyst in EM corporate research covering EM issuers and providing support for primary issuance of corporate debt. She had earlier worked as an emerging markets equity analyst at an asset management company. Polina started her career in the investment industry in 2000 at a macro research boutique in Russia.
	Moderator: Julie Ducharme, CFA Vice President and Institutional Portfolio Manager, PH&N Institutional CFA (2003); BA (Mathematics) (1998) Concordia University, Canada Julie is a vice president and an institutional portfolio manager at PH&N Institutional’s Montreal office. Prior to joining the firm in 2020, Julie spent eight years on the institutional team of a large global investment manager where she had multiple client-facing responsibilities, including most recently, the role of active equity product strategist. Previously, she was director, Global Consultant Relations. In this role, she headed the Canadian business for developing and maintaining relationships with investment consultants. Before that, Julie worked for a large global consulting firm for over a decade, initially responsible for manager research across a variety of alternative asset classes, and then transitioning to a client service role for their delegated business. Julie began her career in the investment industry in 1998. Julie is currently a board member of the CFA Montreal Society.
