Kathryn Laflamme, CFA
Kathryn is a Director at Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), where she leads a team focused on resolution planning for Canadian deposit-taking institutions. She brings nearly a decade of prior experience from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), with senior roles spanning insurance operations, risk management, and policy. Kathryn is a CFA Charterholder and holds dual Master’s degrees in Finance and Public Administration from Queen’s University.

Vice President
Tyson Rigg, CFA, CFP, PFP, CIM
Tyson is a Senior Investment Counsellor and Portfolio Manager at BMO Private Wealth, where he supports high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients with personalized investment strategies and long-term wealth planning. With a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, Tyson has earned several respected designations, including Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), and Personal Financial Planner (PFP®). He brings a well-rounded background in wealth management, having been selected for a national development program and recognized with the President’s Council Award. Tyson is also actively involved in the financial community through his roles with the CFA Society Ottawa and the Telfer Capital Fund Investment Committee.

Treasurer
Daniel Kirshner, CFA
Daniel is an Senior Associate in Export Development Canada’s Investments group. He works on multi-sector direct and fund investments in both the venture capital and mid-market private equity space. He has prior experience in corporate lending and consulting. Daniel is a CFA Charter holder and holds a B.Com. in Finance from the University of Ottawa. He was previously the Vice President and Program Chair for the CFA Society Ottawa.

Secretary
Brooklyn Gauntsmith, CPA, CFA
Brooklyn is an Associate Investment Counsellor working at BMO Private Investment Counsel. Brooklyn and her team specialize in discretionary investment management for high-net-worth individuals, providing tailored solutions aligned with each client’s unique goals and risk profile. They develop customized wealth planning strategies to help clients preserve and grow their wealth over the long-term. She has prior experience in public accounting and audit work. Brooklyn is both a CPA and a CFA Charter holder and holds a BBA from St. FX University, where she developed a strong foundation in both finance and accounting.

Past President
John Harvey, CFA, CIPM, CAIA
John is the Manager, Investments for the Nunavut Trust. In this role he focuses on research, manager selection, and portfolio monitoring/implementation. John is a CFA Charterholder, CAIA Chaterholder and holds a Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement. He graduated from Carleton University with a B.Com. in accounting and finance. In his spare time John enjoys backcountry snowboarding, hiking, canoeing, and cycling.
